My current Sky package is £88 a month and I've priced up a BT one to suit my needs at £45. I don't care about Sky Sports so much any more especially as they have already lose the FA cup and are losing the Champions League from next season. I'm happy enough with my Palace season ticket and watching Match of the Day for the rest and BT sport is free despite having boring Michael Owen commentating. Has anyone made the jump and what do you think of it?

I have bt, strong fibre optic net connection, access to BT sport and sky sports - unlike sky with no access to BT sport..... Not much difference in price though.

Sky haven't had FA cup games since 2009. BT sport will not be free once they have the CL games. I hope that helps. How the f*** are you paying so much? I have the the full deal except movies and pay nowhere near that.

Apart from the 2 SD or HD channels located at number 413/14 or 436/427 you mean? A certain number of CL games will also be aired free, but they'll be crap games or dead rubbers most likely.

Tell Sky you're leaving and wait for the calls with a reduced monthly payment.
The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. |

I have the the full deal except movies and pay nowhere near that. Before BT came along I had ESPN for free which has my back covered on that one, was pissed when that went I like UFC too. If you're a long term customer you get f*** all reward for it, much like with most big companies like insurance and energy. I've called them before about dropping it and got it down to £60 but I still think that's too much for what I'm getting and I'm kind of serious about defecting now. The chance to get fibre optics is also a bonus as my flat is not in Skys zone. As for it not being free- if I enter into an 18 month contract should see me ok for a while then will just see what happens worst case I'll switch back and get a better deal. This is a prime example of breaking up a monopoly not being in the consumers favour- more competition for rights just bumped the price up. Edited by Pawson Palace (19 May 2015 8.42am)

Nah BT won the lot but some games have to be free to air such as the final to protect sponsors investment.
