Personally I think we need 9 points - so 3 wins from 9 games - which given our run in which on paper is by far the easier than any of those below us should be “comfortably”achievable.

On that basis Mateta’s last minute winner could prove a pivotal moment in our season..!!

But we are Palace - so anticipating a few “twists and turns” along the way..!!

COYP

More "Twists and turns" than on the Isle of Man TT course.

Southampton - just not good enough
Forest - tough run in and bad away form
Leicester - poor side
Leeds - can’t score when they need to ( sounds familiar mind)

Three from these

I think we’ll stay and finish 12th from now on in

Probably worth noting that our last five games are in London.

I really hope Everton are one of them, partly because they have the most entitled fans in the league and partly because they are in a total mess with their finances and FFP and according to some reports there’s a good chance they will go out of business if they’re relegated. Maybe if one the ‘big’ clubs goes to the wall then the league might start to take club funding seriously.

I can't see it with the way Dyche has them playing. I'm guessing they'll be ok. The only side really looking in trouble are Southampton, then Leicester I guess. Bournemouth seem to be able to win now. Leeds don't seem that bad. West Ham seem slightly too good to go down. Forest are dodgy enough. At the beginning of the season I had a feeling we might be 17th. I guess I might not be far off. I have us to get 5/6 points from the next five games. Higher than that and I'm thinking we would have to collapse entirely to get relegated.
If we survive say on around 42 points we could see someone with 41 or 42 points go down.

think youre right there.
the recent high 30's total will not be enough this year.
Everton would be great but Dyche will clock up the points (shame)
yesterdays 3 points was very welcome & hopefully kick start us, but we are still no means clear.

I can't see 41/42 points with someone going down. The 9 teams in trouble (and I include us) have to play each other, therefore 3 or 4 points must be lost in each of those games. If one team wins, 3 are lost, if its a draw 4.

There are 88 games left for those 9 teams. There are 15 relegation dog fights. That's 30 of those games. That's a min of 45 points lost, and up to 60 if they are all draws (unlikely).

Another 27 games are V top sides fighting to win the league or battling for a champions league place or Europe.

That only leaves 31 games V mid table sides and they are not easy as some of those are also battling for Europe. (Chelsea are now a mid table side).

I'm predicting a range of 31 to 37 for two of the relegated sides, with a median of 34 and possibly 3 to 5 points between 7 of those sides.

More entitled than Newcastle fans?

So, we started the weekend fixtures 4 points above the relegation places. We end the weekend... 4 points above the relegation places.
Despite a win still a lot more to do.

Make that 3 points above 18th! We've gained a point on 18th. Although, they play tomorrow at home to Spurs, they are on the same points as Leeds in 17th so we'll still be 4 points above 18th come tomorrow night whatever the result..

Yesterday’s 3 points were crucial but just as important, if not more so, was the manner of the win. Palace played with confidence and - for the first time this season that I’ve seen - seemed to want to score. They still need to work on converting chances into goals but 3 points and a strong performance was just what was needed…

(Yes, I know this is Palace so expect the roller coaster &#128512
