Best we agree to disagree Glazier. Well, ok but is it ok? Should we just accept a 30% pay cut? I mean, to be fair, we've been remarkably restrained over that time until we've finally had enough. Hardly the tale of rabid militancy, Dolph.

Public sector awards, and a lot of other current woes could easily be paid out of the grotesque private utility profits declared in the last couple of days.

I think that a lot of people in the private sector have also had real time pay cuts over time - should they accept it? Edited by The Dolphin (07 Feb 2023 1.09pm)

I'll tell you what - stop wanting to take money from everything private to pay for everything public Steeleye and sort out the public sector, which is bloated beyond belief and is used as a means to earn money by too many people who do not give a f*** about the job they do or the people that pay them. The energy sector and water would be the first stop for me in returning them to the public and actually the UK. Shed no tears for them wave them bye bye.

Edited by The Dolphin (07 Feb 2023 1.14pm) Sorry your point seems conflicting to me - you seem to be arguing that these services are not functioning properly, but also are outraged at the idea of funding them properly. I think it's really hard to make the case that it's the public, not private, sector which is full of people purely out to make as much money as they can for as little work as possible (as if that's a bad thing!) Absolutely no one is becoming a teacher or a nurse because they see it as an easy way to get rich or even an easy way to make a living.
