I mean, to be fair, we've been remarkably restrained over that time until we've finally had enough. Hardly the tale of rabid militancy, Dolph.

I think that a lot of people in the private sector have also had real time pay cuts over time - should they accept it?
Do they get the same benefits as the public sector - on the whole they do not?
Are their wages higher than the public sector - when you take the real big earners out of it - it varies.
Do we need teachers, nurses and other clinical staff, police firefighters and the like - of course we do!
Should they be paid a fair wage - everyone should - does it happen in the real world - invariably not.
Teachers - taking them as the example are being paid - taking into account pensions - 23.68% more than they are telling the general public when they talk about striking - is that fair - no.
Life is not fair sadly and in all sorts of ways

I wouldn't be against that - subject to cost, which might be prohibitive.
However, I am not sure that they would be run any better or that they would cost the end users less either.

Ricky Gervais and Dave Chapelle are probably the two biggest comedians in the world at the moment, by the way.

Sorry your point seems conflicting to me - you seem to be arguing that these services are not functioning properly, but also are outraged at the idea of funding them properly.

I think it's really hard to make the case that it's the public, not private, sector which is full of people purely out to make as much money as they can for as little work as possible (as if that's a bad thing!)

Absolutely no one is becoming a teacher or a nurse because they see it as an easy way to get rich or even an easy way to make a living.
