Today in the series the stuff staffie and I listened to. This is by a band called Wally, back in the early and mid 70's people used to wander around festivals calling out for "Wally" at all times of the day and night. There was even a group of hippies called the Wallies that lived at Stonehenge at the time. Apparently the origins of this was someone lost their dog during a very early Stonehenge fest (possibly 72/73) and guess what his name was? Wally - Valley Gardens (1974) 1. "Valley Gardens" (Gerrett, Cosker) 9:45 Download [Link] Attachment: Wally.jpg (7.49Kb)

Wally - Valley Gardens (1974) 'Wally' & 'Albatross' were very common shouts. I remember shouting them myself outside Wembley Arena in '78 going into a Yes gig. One of the best gigs I've attended actually as they had a revolving circular stage which was amazing at that time

Think I remember mass "wally" shouts from Weeley festival in 1971. Any sightings/soundings earlier than that? Edited by legaleagle (13 Oct 2016 8.40pm)

I saw Yes on that tour.I went to the Saturday night 28th October.I still have the ticket and a Yes Wembley '78 size small tshirt. I'm never going to get that on again! It was my first ever concert. Ive seen them on every tour since.I remember the Wally shouts right up to the early 1980's at concerts and festivals.Albatross was of course taken from the Monty Python sketch.
