Must've missed it. Nevermind, thought it would be a good tribute* but if it's that recent then maybe a tad pointless.

I'll get me thinking cap on for another

*and one I probably would've grabbed - only got a S'tramp collection

How about Rebel by John Miles (Music was my first love). Appropriate in more ways for the late great staffie

I've scouted through and can't actually find it in January's posts, as I said it's what shows on my files as the date I downloaded it but how accurate that is I don't know as I may have accessed it again long after as the last post I can see that staffie put for it was back in February 2011

In that case Superfly your request should stand and indeed would be very apt to mark the occasion

Here's one staffie and I listened to a LOT. Written by French composer Cyril Verdeaux, has the remnants of Gong playing on this album, of note the excellent Steve Hillage on guitar.

Some goodies for the mill tomorrow...

Clearlight - Clearlight Symphony

Talking about Steve Hillage, I have 'Motivation Radio' & 'Green' on vinyl by him but wouldn't mind either on mp3 or even the album 'L' if you can please Mr A. Be much appreciated

The second offering has a story, and has just been requested at the same time.

Rumour was that this album was going to be called 7, and released on 7/7/77 where Hillage was supposed to play it at Glastonbury, which was a small free festival at the time.

Anyhoo staffie and I hitched down there (got a lift most of the way on two motorbikes). Hillage didn't play so we actually caught the album at the Rainbow some weeks later (backed up by Nova as I seem to recall).

I digress, Glasto was stonking hot that year and some bright spark was selling scrumpy he had acquired locally, and people were passing out in the sun, we didn't need those silly bracelets that year. If you glowed in the dark you had been to Glastonbury '77.

Steve Hillage "L"

The day wouldn't be complete without one of staffies favourites of all time.

In the coming days I will be posting some tunes that we spent a lot of our youth listening to, either at the squat in Stafford road, Noel Terrace in Forest Hill, or round at Colin, Ken's and Douggies place down Sydenham road.

Supertramp - Crime Of The Century

01. School
02. Bloody Well Right
03. Hide In Your Shell
04. Asylum
05. Dreamer
06. Rudy
07. If Everyone Was Listening
08. Crime Of The Century
