This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 He comes from a very, very well of family, his father is already a millionaire, and a very big fish in the building industry in the west. How much money does he need, surely cant he put his career ahead of money,i mean there is still a chance to make the plane to France in the summer ? Quote bubble wrap at 05 Jan 2016 2.51pm
Personally think he is letting his contract run down so that he can command a massive signing on fee all for himself in the Summer. He is being paid good money by QPR and is in no rush to leave so cannot blame him really. Will be set for life.

I think people forget footballers are used to a set life style once they finish playing which is half the years compared to normal people what are they going to do? only top players do the tv stuff.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 As i have said earlier in this thread he wont leave now because he holds all the cards in getting a better chance at negotiating a better signing on fee at the end of the season but waiting till the end of the season also gives him the better position of seeing who ends up where as many of the clubs in the mix for him are down the bottom end of the table. He wouldn't want to leave QPR now go to the Premier for 6 months and end up relegated again.

Austin did say on Twitter a few months ago that he is not all about money or something similar.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 Him and Connor Wickham would certainly make a very good partnership.......in the treatment room. Both Austin and Remy seem to be injured a lot this season, and yet we still want to buy them? Better get a bigger treatment room. Lol

Better get a bigger treatment room. Lol Well, Austin's made 16 appearances this season (and scored 10 goals) so he hasn't been injured "a lot" although he has had one period out. That goes with the territory. I am starting to think this one might happen.

Sadly he's not interested in joining us. Need to move on to the next target. You have to question his motives, then. When he said no in the summer, you could somewhat see why; a team that finished 10th, so could one way or another. Lots of teams above them. Come now though, we're above and/or competing with a lot of teams of similar stature, so you'd have to imagine he sees a future warming the bench at one of the big boys, or the likes of Spurs and Liverpool are curious. If players are taking a snapshot of the PL right now, there's not that much that differentiates us from the likes of Southampton, Swansea, Stoke etc; all clubs that were probably above us in the pecking order last summer. That could stay the same come this summer, but right this I think it's a fair assessment. If Austin doesn't want to come, and Chelsea won't sell Remy, then I guess we will be looking abroad. He genuinely believes a 'top' team will come in for him and is willing to wait until the summer. He's probably looked at Danny Ings and thought he'd do the same. Stupid. He has the same attitude to us as he does to Leceister City who have also made enquiries. Good luck to him, but us or a Leicester City in my eyes are the ideal club for him, that's without my red and blue specs on too!

More likely to be a Jordan Rhodes (who incidentally I rate) than a Danny Ings

Maybe if we called him Charles rather than Charlie he'd sign? Why don't we call him Steve ? Probably get him for $6 million which good be a real bargain.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 Austin is not going to sign a contract till his current deal expires. He can then negotiate a mega deal for himself. Why not take him on loan till the end of the season. Pay QPR a loan fee plus they also get his wages off their books and if all goes well pursue his signature in the summer.
