In terms of Asylum acceptance rates for Albanians, I have perused statistics for 2021 which show that on a similar number of applications to both the UK and France, we accepted about 55% of the cases processed and France about 2%.
Germany had about a quarter of the applications made to the OK and France and their acceptance rate was 0%.

Take a bow Suella Braverman (On my wing of the party) for being totally candid in mentioning about an "Invasion" and that the "Asylum system is broken".

As far as I am concerned these are economic migrants, not fleeing persecution from Albania which is deemed a 'Safe country'.They should be sent back to Tirana on the first available aircraft.

The cynic in me suggests that Albania wouldn't want them back...if (and I stress 'if'), whatever these guys earn is sent back to Albania to be used in their economy, why stop the flow of money? Also, Albanians getting free health care in the Uk means they are not costing the Albanian health system anything. What's not to like?

I heard David Davis interviewed on Radio 4 a few days ago, but cannot find a link to it. He made a lot of sense, effectively arguing that we are interpreting our responsibility to grant asylum incorrectly and, if the applicant comes from a "safe" country, then we have every right to return them there. Yes we have every right but look no further than HRA as to why this rarely happens. Being allowed Appeal after appeal is a nonsense but great earner fir HR lawyers ( Cherie Blair take a bow).
