And like I said to Hrolf, true, but not a characteristic unique to Labour.

And if they come good on the deal, what do you care who they are if this is the policy you are most interested in?

"IF", of course, is the key word.

To be fair to me, I have made considerable note and commentary on the dishonesty of the Tories on this issue.

I'd be amazed if anyone who actually takes note of politics actually thinks that Labour's new position on immigration is anything like serious and isn't political opportunism.

Also to be fair to me again, I'll also made plain why I care about the issue. Firstly, it's about not lying to your own base and secondly, it's about the direction of the country and the ponzi scheme implications of the policy, crime and social cohesion, balkanization and so on and so forth.

Get the Tories in their own back yard. The migrant crisis should be input into classrooms at Eton & Harrow. Maybe Winchester & Dulwich College also.

I noticed that in Ireland Ukrainian refugees are at 50,000 and rising, whilst "international protection" asylum seekers and the like are massively up at 17,000 odd already - expected to be 20,000. It's 4 percent of our entire population.
If the numbers were similar in the UK, that would conservatively be well over 1 million extra people this year!
This is serious and people and services are under genuine strain, when a lot were already readily described by the government as 'in crisis'. Housing no 1, health no. 2. Both are basically non-existent. Education and social services stretched beyond the limit too. How do teachers with 30 odd students each take on an extra couple of Ukrainians each and perhaps one other - all likely to have no English? Not thought through whatsoever.
How do social workers, already failing their current clients, take on loads of extra refugee families, and indeed singles? No one extra hired. Not thought through. There are countless other areas this is happening in too.

The Ukrainians will eventually go home. The pakistani asylum seekers will not go back to Birmingham. People have sympathy for the Ukrainians but there's men denied asylum in the UK crossing into Dundalk who should be sent straight back to Karachi.

I'm working with the Ukrainians. They all say they're staying. Céad míle fáilte, I guess.
The others all lie about where they're from alright, currently all from Somalia. Every single one has been thrown out of somewhere else - usually the UK. Considering how hard it is to get thrown out, what kind of w***ers are we getting?

Farage on GB News

Hotel owner in Skegness offered £500,000 pa by government to close hotel and turn it into a migrant hostel.

He refused because the influx of migrants is destroying Skegness as a tourist spot.

If he had accepted as well as cancelling all bookings he would have had to sack 9 of his staff going from 10 down to 1. Other hotel owners are taking the deal as it is guaranteed income and little staff overheads.

Brave man.

Making some of the refugees stay in a place called Ham, near Sandwich, would soon have the protesters out in force.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Yorkshire should change it's 'Y' to a 'P'. Bit too late for them but might have helped.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The numbers released today are made up of various different things which sort of means it is not as bad as it sounds.
One off immigration from Ukriane, Hong Kong and Afghanistan - who could deny they shouldn't be allowed to stay?
Students make up over 250,000 of those - they will mostly go home.
In any event this scuppers those wanting to go to the EU to find workers when it appears many people have come here and will hopefully work!
I only have a problem with illegals - not legals.

I have a problem with this huge number legal or illegal. The net increase maybe 500,000 but is it like for like?

I'm glad your confident that all these students will go home because I am not.

I am all in favour of immigration linked to skills but this number is just too large.

We don't have the infrastructure to cope with any more people
