It’s the deck of cards they constantly play which pisses me off. Also old people getting old and wanting stuff to help them doesn’t annoy me tbh. It does you so what age is useless, brown people included

I’m not comfortable with politicians of any persuasion/party or level using social media as a platform though. That has never seemed right to me.

I appreciate all the attention boys. Truth is, I’m an AI bot sent here from the future to try to regulate these boards and add a bit of bantz and lightness to the threads.

They need to do their job and communicate through Parliamentary comms divisions and the press and news shows like they always did.

Problem is the genie is well and truly out of the bottle now. And how would you enforce it? So for example the mechanisms by which specific adverts are used to target potential voters? Would you envisage that kind of data harvesting/exploiting was still allowed?
Because given the advances in AI and deep fakes, I suspect something is going to have to give soon. Edited by Matov (14 Nov 2023 10.13pm)

I only mentioned it as something that doesn’t quite sit right with me. I think it opens us up to populism and culture wars and can also lead to unfair advantages and create cult like following of certain politicians, as we have seen with Trump in the States and Boris here in the UK to a lesser extent. We get politicians who trade on having a personality but are actually terrible at politics. And the electorate who are often not sound of mind enough to realise this, and will vote them in without realising it is the worst possible thing that they could do for themselves and the country in which they call home. You also raise a very good point about the deep fake and AI stuff. We need to get on top of this all before it get way out of hand, and a good way to start would be by taking politics, or politicians away from social media.
