Really worried now.

Sadly, l think it will be the seaside pair of Southampton & Bournemouth plus ourselves.
After no win in 11 (1 in the last 13), the misguided belief of a proportion of the fan base that we will magically & automatically pick up 4/5 wins out of the last 10 games, because most of those teams are below us is just breathtaking in its naïveté & complacency but l guess that’s just the attitude from the top down !

Is this a bad time to mention that Doucoure only needs 1 booking in his next 5 games to trigger a 2 game ban?

One team always gets dragged in to the fight and this year it is us.
The question is - have we got the fight to get out of it.
My answer currently is no!

I don't think we will be relegated. In 2023 we haven't played a team below us in the league. We have by far the easiest run in of any of the teams below us as our last 6 games are against teams below us in the league.

To reconfirm: Forest, Leicester, and West Ham will all go above us if they win their respective game in hand. Bournemouth who everybody has been saying all season were certainties for the drop, will be on the same points as us if they win their game in hand, albeit with a worse goal difference.
It's all about momentum - we don't have any and I'm not expecting players who have been lazy and s***e all season to suddenly get with the program. Unless they realise that it could seriously affect their bank balance of course.

The complacency is amazing - 'no wins in 11 now, but we will automatically get the 4 or 5 wins from the remaining 11 because most of the teams are below us !' ??
We cannot win for toffee or even shoot straight.
Thanks to the 'publicity shy' Mr Parish, we have no ambition and are run like a Championship club and sadly, have as good as one leg in it.
Due to his 'leadership' we will probably have to watch next year as a number of similar-sized clubs (Fulham, Brentford, B******n and quite possibly Burnley) continue to progress, while we go through another complete overhaul.

I feel very negative in some ways but last night there were some chinks of light.

The bad thing obviously is that we just can't seem to score and the manager has to take some responsibility for that in terms of chopping and changing the forward line, often playing Ayew instead of Mateta and Edouard (who to be fair are both out of form).

The better news is that aside from Fulham and Spurs at home we are in most games and don't take many batterings. Our defence for the most part is still tough to break down. Last night the team played better and were more attacking at points. Continue that and, at some point, surely Wilf at least will end his goal drought and the 1-0 defeats should turn around into more positive results. I can see us getting two or three wins and a couple of draws, which should be enough.

But I really worry about us next season if we survive relegation this time around, especially if no Wilf. Have to invest in the team.

I know its all doom and gloom at the moment but after last night The only change in my predictions are that Saints have 1 less point. I had them down for a draw.

If we look at the 9 teams remaining games it makes interesting reading in terms of top teams to play and relegation dog fights.

-----------------Top teams-------Dog fights-------Others
Southampton---------5----------------4--------------2
Leeds---------------5----------------6--------------1
Bournemouth---------3----------------6--------------3
West Ham------------4----------------5--------------3
Leicester-----------3----------------6--------------3
Everton-------------5----------------4--------------2
Forest--------------5----------------4--------------2
Wolves--------------2----------------5--------------4
Palace -------------2----------------8--------------1

The 'others' games are not that easy. Fulham and Brentford for example are both fighting for Europe. As southampton found out last night.

We are in the best position with our destiny in our own hands. We just have to find some form.........

Southampton. Leeds, Everton and forest are in the toughest place, with 5 top sides to play each.

I think we will be 13th or 14 going into the international break. To be honest I would love to see wolves beat leeds.

As it stands our hope could lie in the fact several of the teams below us are also sh!t in front of goal this season and have arguably tougher games. The hard time I'm having is deciding whether we have been really poor or whether it is just we've faced tough opposition all year so far. Am I making excuses by repeating that, or will we see a totally different team when we start facing struggling teams? I mean, there's a reason no one has overtaken us in three months despite us not winning. Only time will tell. I imagine we'll win some and lose some, but we could end up relying on the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea getting their act together if we don't.

Getting four wins looks increasingly unlikely.

No, I think we have to keep telling ourselves that. We've had lots of draws and marginal losses against good teams.

Its not a huge leap to assume that when playing lesser teams those marginal loses and draws might turn to wins.
