Is saying I expect to see us desperately trying but failing to score against ten men whilst they get a couple on the break too pessimistic? Praying for a Christmas miracle here.

Completely outplayed by Villa -but Mings being sent off gives Palace a chance but by god we need to up our game in the second half This game up to now has shown all our failings woefully slow defenders poor player choices by RH The next 45 mins we need to attack but close down Villa on the counter.

We haven't got a good record over the years (barring the West Brom game) of taking advantage of an extra man - now is a good time to improve on that. However with PVA in defence we are always going to succumb to the counter attack. We just need to spread out the play with longer balls instead of the one touch push and run way that ends up in a dead end. In other words attack like Villa do.

Mings should have gone for the first foul - he knew he attempted to/ did stamp on Wilf - look at his reaction. Now against 10 men, Jario on and McArthur off - wont happen though.!!
