Always disappointing to lose and being the only prem side to do so last night :-( Again shows the weakness of our squad and was disappointed to hear Bats and Eze didn’t show well. It is only a Mickey Mouse cup but for fans like us a chance to get to Wembley to show something for the number of years in the prem which will eventually disappear? It also gives more game time to those that normally sit on the bench. Chance lost to get more game time as far as I’m concerned :-(

Eze wasn't bad, he did some nice flicks and looked comfortable on the ball, plus his penalty was ridiculously cool. Some of his teammates weren't quite on his wavelength at times. It looked like he'd been told not to over commit himself. Batshuayi barely had a sniff all night except from one ball that he should have done better with. We were playing at a walking pace while Bournemouth looked marginally better thanks to the energy of their front two. Overall though the game had less energy than our opening preseason fixture which says it all. I'm not sure Bournemouth particularly wanted to win it either!

Knowing we had Man City in the next round means I'm not really bothered we are out.

Lots of players got a run out against decent opponents (why didnt we do that at the end of last season). Pleased to see key players rested.

Kept a clean sheet with a extremely untested side, short on fitness and not playing in their natural roles.

Anyone got any opinions on Inniss, Woods, Jach, Kirby?

Can't really criticise Roy over a nothing game or a keeper for missing a penalty.

Kirby was ok. Played it safe most of the time.

Inniss, Woods and Jach are, in my opinion, L1 standard at best.

Taking a look at the line up I'd say he tried something different.

Not sure why everybody is so up in arms about losing on penalties in the Mickey Mouse Cup

More attacking line up, yet the same boring tactics. The reason I'm upset is after our pre season games and eze and bats joining, I thought we were looking at a better style of football, particularly against the weaker sides. But no, this was just like last season. Boring crap football.

Bottom line is that players who needed game time, got it? Personally I think it's better for Palace to exit stage left and avoid more fixtures in a very crowded schedule?

Bats and Eze were both very disappointing.

Question on Inniss, Jack, Woods and Kirby.

Inniss, Jach and Woods-- similar. Safety first, units. Not really made for passing out, which means our midfielders were never getting clean ball, which gave for an ugly performance. Jach got good reviews on the BBS but nevertheless showed why the PL is a way off for him.

He needs to be more mobile and improve his distribution.

That said he, he was better than I expected because I expected him to be abject based on what I'd read. And he wasn't.

Inniss eager and big. Likes a sliding tackle which would be deadly in the prem.

Woods, I can't really comment that much either. I didn't notice him that much but what I did see seemed cautious (understandably).

Kirby was a little sloppy, but movement wasn't bad. There's a player in there somewhere. He needs to play meaningful matches at the highest level he can (as does any sports person hoping to fulfil their potential) and realise that wayward passing is never okay. Because to me it just looked like a failure of concentration rather than technique.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Couldn’t give a s*** about the result, pleased to be out and not waste a night at City.

But, it concerns me that Roy seemingly has learnt nothing and we are going to approach games with the same dull tactics centred around keeping clean sheets - 38% and 1 shot on target against championship opposition is pathetic; I accept the defence was rotated, but Kirby aside the front 6 are all established players - Bournemouth were playing kids of their own at the back and we barely created a chance.

When did anyone last enjoy watching us play?

Saturday was the last time for me. Do you really think that Hodgson, with his 40+ years as a coach, has learnt nothing from all those seasons/experiences with international and other top teams?

Similar tactics for sure,

But add a midfield and a backline who can string a pass to together and pace up top and we can become a fast breaking counter attack team again

Wilf Bats up front with Ayew Townsend Eze Schlupp in support and perhaps even a hard running central mid and we become an entirely different proposition - with the same possession.

Southampton was very encouraging to me. Not the finished product but hints of returning to some fast and dangerous counters. Key I think is Wilf up top - or more advanced anyway - and no Benteke. Ben has his qualities but he’s not made to lead a line of fast counters. He’s more of a hold up play cf - that slows play down. The absence of goals not the only reason to phase him out.

Take a look at some forwards who have prospered under RH at other clubs and this seems feasible.

I stand corrected on my earlier post - it was only 90 mins of football not 120 mins.

The fact that the likes of Citeh didn't even play in this round of the cup pretty much sums it up. They could of put out their full 2nd XI and got through comfortably. Bournemouth will have that pleasure next round. As Roy said to make the draw for the next round before was insane, particularly if you drew a big club like ourselves. Whilst this is no excuse not to put a shift in, could easily be playing on their minds. No wonder both teams put in a turgid 90 mins, ready for the hangman's noose next round.

Classic Wayne.

Doesnt save one all night, finally pulls off a stop to their keeper, has a chance for glory and puts it onto the beach.

To all you who think Hennessey is better than Guaita, with VG in there we win that game, hands down.

PZ Eagle take note.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.
