And this year we had no luck with our loan ins. Camarasa bailing in January and Cenk Tosun injured early March iirc. Last few years we've usually had 2 or so decent loans we could depend on. I know it's a small thing but then small things can have an impact like this season. Or would that be putting too much emphasis on this?

Camarasa was outed without time on the pitch.
Cardiff player of the season doesnt get a sniff. Rumour being he didnt like Roy's training sessions.
Some Mavericks just need the ball, Rooney, Beckham, cabaye, pogba. Who gives a toss if they dont like training but still keep fit. Paul McGrath turned up on game day and look how good he was.
Ok injury was his reason but not being at training; didnt impact his positional sense and commitment.

I think we missed a trick with Camarasa, he is the player we have been missing, a midfielder who can pass and shoot

Since Christmas we've scored from set pieces against Southampton, Man City, Newcastle and Bournemouth.

We've had legit set piece goals chalked off this season against Liverpool and Villa.

As I have said in an earlier post in this thread the idea of us spending to freshen the squad up whether that is under Roy or another manager is not going to happen until new investors are found. Until then its all a mute point as this is what is making us stagnant at the moment and Roy will be in charge until then.

Just imagine how many we'd score if we worked on them.

Yea I’m aware of that , however you said “when“ as in , when can he get results when needed, and we have had many great results this season, last season and the first season Hodgeson was in charge, I know we are on a downhill slope atm however I have every confidence we will start next season on the front foot with hopefully a few new signings. It’s been a weird season then break has helped some teams and not others and realistaically wasn’t going to help ours with the age of the squad playing every few days and especially without the atmosphere at selhurst.

Anyway we are all entitled to our different opinions , but we are all red and blue! And want the best for our club and team

McGrath was an outstanding player in his day, but that couldn't happen now with today's required levels of fitness.

You can't compare Camarasa with any of the players that you mention. Not liking the training is no excuse and totally unprofessional if he wasn't prepared to put it in with his team mates. I don't recall any of those players demanding or expecting special treatment.

I dont know if camarasa wanted special treatment. I said I thought he didnt agree with Roy's training regime. I mean it must be rigid as a dead fish.
All the players I mentioned wernt to show a point about conforming as their teams played differently.
Why did cabaye leave? Camarasa might not have wanted to defend on the halfway line.

It's hard to deny that iwe've gone off the boil. I'm just pleased we did enough early doors to avoid these results being more gut wrenching.
