Answered your own question... and yes, Parish showed Wilf no respect by pricing him out the market - the word floating around was Wilf signed on big to help the sell fee - so naturally when Arsenal came calling, Parish not even meeting in the middle, that's foolish - cos look at the season we just had... Zaha isn't himself... we can all see that, was that due to the transfer saga, was that due to him putting his head down and working more on his defensive display, not worrying about getting the goals for us or something else? I think he has been carrying an injury, coupled with being somewhat shackled by our tactics and being double/triple marked every game. I like him in the free role up front when the double marking doesn’t occur so much

Personally I feel a move abroad would be the best for him and will let him play in the CL as he is unlikely to get any of the top 4 in England. The only issue will be if our board will spend any on the money we get for him. As things stand they seem to have a closed wallet policy. Good post,Wilf,s mind set is away from CP, he is not playing well and we are paying out huge salary each week so may as well cut our losses. His valuation is what we can get and certainly not 50mil plus as some are suggesting. Some reports suggest lucky if we get 30mil, whatever we get a slice has to got to MU. Just look at Sheffield U to see what smart spending and good loan deals can achieve!

Not sure I see your point? Where did I say anything to the contrary? Let's say Parish sits down with Arsenal, you think that was going to be their final offer? C'mon... And look, a year has past... we have no money for Wilf, no real return this year and he looks to be off and as I said earlier, we will be lucky to get 40 mil... so we are no better off having parish say no deal. It’s not hard for Arsenal to pick up the phone and say ‘’55 Steve’’ is it? They didn’t do that. They tried to play silly fvckers via Zaha’s cling ons. I blame Parish for a few things, but not getting a sale from a bid that was never there isn’t one of them. I argued with Hrolf at the time we should let go at £60-£65 mil as Zaha’s head would go if we didn’t let him leave. Hrolf said no less than £100 mil. Hrolf was wrong, but then again our only offer was Arsenal’s so we got nowhere near the price I had in mind. Everton’s £52mil bid never happened. They’re pretenders. Plus keeping out of play in January in case someone wanted to buy him was obvious to anyone.

It could be the last chance we have to get a half decent price because of his age. IMO he has had a better spell since we've come back but I so want this to end quickly so we can concentrate on next season. Fed up already with the speculation in the press, other forums and anyone with an opinion poking their nose in. If we sell, grab the money, no swap deals especially not Pepe at the Arse. Personally I'd like to see him ply his trade abroad and wish him well. Edited by Chubskip (23 Jul 2020 6.36pm) Edited by Chubskip (23 Jul 2020 6.37pm)

In any case Spurs at home is the last time we're likely to see Wilf in a Palace shirt.......

I think that tomorrow we indeed but the last time we see Wilf in red and blue. Sad for him to not get a decent send off and sad for us not to give it. Be an interesting and short summer

Hold on to Wilf, and bring in the players that would make it a more than one man team, while keeping the man formerly known as the one man. Instead of shipping Wilf, buying other players, and then being a Wilf-less multi-man team.

He dreams of winning something which he is unlikely to do with Palace even if we were to buy in some better players in the break.
