Mullered tonight. Luckily the Kop were not in full voice as it could of been a lot worse. We were as ineffective as Citeh at home. However with all the money available to the top 6 the real crime is how any other team gets points of them. Other teams need to look at the mini table of games against them and see where they stack up. Move on to Monday, where both teams have taken a pasting this week. Everything to play for. COYP !!

Liverpool are a good side, Palace look good when we have our best 11 out and all firing. We were poor tonight and the players had the look of a team that knew it was going to get nothing out of it. It is disappointing but it highlights our lack of strength in depth.

Well, that was essentially a well organised team shorn of three of its best players being exposed as old, slow, under resourced and playing an old fashioned sitting in style against a vastly faster, better resourced team playing the modern pressing game.
Utterly one sided And completely forgettable. We have been band aiding this team for years but need to move to an evolutionary model that looks for year on year improvement.

4-0 defeat. Pathetic performance, and I'm surprisingly not bothered.

Typical Hodgson. If something is difficult then he's got a media trained ready made excuse for his teflon shoulders.

Sure a lot of players are out. Not sure if they were injured or not, but even at 4-0 down we had 10 players behind the ball and standing way off them.

Their center backs were allowed to wander deep into our half under no pressure.

Where's the press or the passion. Drilled out of the team. We play with excellent shape, but no movement, creativity or passion.

Fair play to Liverpool. They were very impressive. Lots of movement and superb skill, but we made it easy when we arent constantly putting pressure on the ball.

They'd tried the long ball to Salah several times and we didnt do anything to cut it out.

Fabinho has loads of space. Someone should have been going crazy for not closing him down but we just shrugged our shoulders and accepted it. 3-0 with 4 shots on target.

No pressure on the assist for Mane's goal.

Liverpool have found a way around playing teams that stick everyone behind the ball. We are still playing tactics that are 20 years old.

At least it wasn’t 6 or 7 so it could have been worse. Given that one of the best goalkeepers in the league wasn’t playing and Zaha went off early and also that we’ve got very little to play for I can definitely live with that. I’ll be glad when the season is over quite frankly so we can refresh the squad and get going again, hopefully with crowds allowed back in.

Yes today wasn't great but there's a lot of factors to that than just the rubbish 'not even trying' nonsense.

Those out of date 20 year old tactics have got us safe with 8 games to go. Probably something we've not done in 20 years.

Shock horror. One of the best teams in the world playing a full strength team beat a midtable team with key players missing.

Onto Burnley.

The poster talking about " 20 year old tactics " is presumably a tactical genius of the modern game.

As you say, on to Burnley

I would have selected as close to the starting 11 from the Bournemouth game. It didn’t help Wilf going off though..

We seem to have run out of players...

Mamma at the back looked his usual frightening self the odd flash of something outweighed by missed passes and bambi on ice defending.

One thing I we ould say is that Big Wayne probably not at fault. He was left hopelessly exposed.

Mayer looked lightweight and I just cannot see he is worth his huge wages.

Give the kids a go. Can't be much worse.

Guaita injured, Benteke injured.

Luka tactical as he is on two match ban with next yellow.

So with the exception of Dann who likely being rotated due to age and fitness it is the starting line up from last game.

Said in a nutshell. I will add, though:
1. Hennessey wasn't the problem at the free kick. Having two shorties on the end of the wall was an invitation to A-A to put it were he did.
2. Without Benteke as a target man and Wilf as an outlet, we had no chance.
3. Klopp paid us the compliment of putting out Liverpool's strongest 11. They were simply too good for us
4. Sakho has proven (to me at least) that the sooner he goes back to France and off our wages bill, the better.
5. Given the scarcity of current resources, I'm relieved we're safe and will be playing Prem football again next season (8th in a row!)
6. Finally, WILLO your doom prediction seems to have been the nearest to the result unlike my ridiculously optimistic 1-1
