Luka not helping team at moment, he seems to get booked early needlessly most games then goes missing . Needed and will need more creativity in midfield [Mayer] . We were never going to play through city so long ball was needed sooner . There is a time and place for root one and today was one . Tough run coming up and we will get no points playing like today, we need to gamble in a couple of those games .

Wilf was missing for large parts of the game, is this why the really big clubs don't rate him?

I thought Wilf was only missing for the parts of the game that he was played down the right. He looked dangerous when switched to the left as did the team once Townsend was down the right. Can't help but think Roy is that desperate to get his favourite player Sclupp in the starting line up that he's willing to play Wilf in a postion that he's less effective and drop Townsend completely. We're blunt up front anyway with our attacking options, why make things even worse by playing players that will create less or players out of position that will create even less chances for them?

Agreed. Thought we gave them a run. The chap from Bloomfield should go and support Liverpool, we don’t need his kind here. Thought we all played well, undone by two moments of quality. Originally posted by braunstoneagle

Because then we'd miss out on the great memories we've had against Arsenal and City last season and United this one. If you expect us to turnover the top 6 teams every time we play them then you might have a lot of disappointment in the coming years.

Well played Wayne Hennessy - he made some great saves. Impressed too by Ayew and Ward.

his problems are 1. poor movement at times you see him only walking around the guy is not top level with the experience and age he is at he should be a much better all round player. now some will say maybe it's due to the level of players he is playing with but i dont buy that because he should be looking like a superstar then every game the guy was out paced by 33 year old and sterling had him in pocket I do think better coaching would improve his game but he strikes me as having the wrong attitude look at the world class players and how much effort and attitude they have he is not in their league.
