I thought he was pretty decent in the short period before he got injured again. He was really unlucky to get injured when he did, otherwise I think the perception of him might have been different. Also agreed - good post on a pretty grubby thread I remember reading that Wickham had bulked up alot - rather than being weak, maybe he's not flexible enough to absorb lateral impact ?? Don't profess to be an expert - just surmising

Agreed. He was playing very well when he got injured.I hope that he can recover to the level he was playing at when the injury occurred; only time will tell. Spot on.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Connor Wickham update?' by Midlands Eagle It hurts to say this but maybe we need to consider cancelling his contract. This man will forever be injured. If he ever gets back to full fitness we will probably only be able to play him once a month at best without risking another problem. Good player when fit...but sadly it is not often enough.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Connor Wickham update?' by Midlands Eagle one question about this, do players have insurance for career threatening injuries? They cant all be like say Michael Owen and invest their wages in racehorses or houses

I’m sure by the time of your message you don’t mean it that way, but cancelling the contract of a player that got injured playing for our club really isn’t how I like to think we treat our players. Support him, try and get him fit and decide at the end of his contract what to do.
