By the way, sorry if I have dumbed down Chaos Theory to a Fresh Prince of Bel Air analogy.

Ok then, so here is a follow up question. If Will Smith had been a secondary character and Alfonso Ribeiro had been the main character (and also the performer of the theme tune), would we have seen Alfonso in Seven Pounds, Men in Black and the dad of the karate kid?

OR - would both of them have ended up disappearing into obscurity?

I still think that the success of Will Smith can only point to the existence of some kind of deal with the devil situation. At best an average actor, which in the world of acting, means relative obscurity. Its hard to think of a film that actually has been improved by the addition of Will Smith. He is arguably the black Tom Hanks.

Had Ribeiro been the 'Fresh Prince', he would probably have been balls deep Jada Smith worrying about his sons life choices. But its important to remember that Will Smith had some profile as the 'Fresh Prince' prior to the series, on the basis of being 'a rapper who could sell records to children'.

Its an age old question, but I think its basically because otherwise clever people would struggle to get laid, on the basis of being too nerdy or geeky. So evolution has made fools or stupid people, typically more attractive, and in doing so this facilitates the benefit of the species allowing for inheritance of intelligence and attractiveness.
