Well, the Evangelicals are a small section of Christianity....The Islamic faith is about one billion people. In Islam you are told to take its words as the literal words of God.....Perhaps you are comparing apples to oranges here Kermy. Also...thing is Kermy, evangelicals being Christians believe that Christ started a new covenant....hence he over-rides previous practice. So a literal interpretation of Christianity New Testament doesn't contain much in the way of violence. All fundamentalists are a pain in the arse....But Christian fundamentalists are more likely to be irritating than anything else.

You should read it Nick....and the hadiths. Everything is open to interpretation but the Qoran obviously is no different but it is certainly very different to the Bible in many important respects. The Bible is recognised as being written by man inspired by God.....The Bible is meant to be viewed as as man's interpretation. However, the Quran is meant to be the written words of God. Old Mo isn't interpreting the words of God, he is literally writing them down. The book text itself prohibits any changes. Hence when old Mo has sex with a nine year old and has whole Jewish tribes beheaded from the teenage boys up and divides their women as sex slaves for him and his men......It's kind of hard to see much room for interpretation. Those Muslims protesting and indeed fighting against IS are obviously good Muslims.....But Islam itself has a huge problem....and that problem is its religious books themselves and the societies around the globe that seek to enact its laws. Edited by Stirlingsays (06 Jun 2016 8.12pm) We should objectively count which book promotes more murderous acts the same way we should count the things Ali or Trump have each said and then decide which was worse but people know which side they support before the match has kicked off. Moreover there are certain teams beyond reproach. Not that Morgan, Hopkins or Clarkson are entitled to an opinion. Hopefully one of them will come out with something anti-Semitic soon so we can really work out where the double-standards are. I'm only aware of the Trump comparison thanks to Facebook, which allegedly prioritises left-wing stories in its feeds, so in fact the entire media perpetuate this sh1t and people lap it up when it suits their agenda. Just watched the first Liston fight again (for the umpteenth time). Pure Class in the ring! And that was at just 22 y.o.

That was a fantastic fight. I have just watched the George Forman '74 fight. Brilliant tactics- properly brave against a man who could hit like a sledgehammer. Originally posted by palace-metros

Nothing like the extremist level he expressed. I can say extremist because he was a member of, and supported the Nation of Islam, which was definitely an extremist organization most black people did not support. I have already expressed that some understanding of the nature of the times is fair in any judgement of Ali but this by no means should ignore the reality of how most black people responded to those times. The majority of black people...and in fact many people may have admired Ali for his fighting and his wit.....But few supported his political beliefs or his views on race. The Nation of Islam was a racist and anti semetic organization and Ali defended it vehemently. Most black people didn't support this and that's most probably because the can tell racism when they hear it and rejected it for what it was. A quote from MLKjr.....A man who could drawn far more support for his views on all sides. 'When Cassius Clay joined the Black Muslims and started calling himself Cassius X he became a champion of Racial Segregation and that is what we are fighting against. I think perhaps Cassius should spend more time proving his boxing skill and do less talking.'

His stance on Vietnam was heroic imo and probably helped in a roundabout way of saving thousands of lives later on due to kids burning their draft papers, etc. Must have given them strength. Edited by Kermit8 (07 Jun 2016 7.13pm)

Edited by Kermit8 (07 Jun 2016 7.13pm) The war in Vietham came at a huge cost to America but it stopped the spread of communism. If the west...namely America hadn't fought communism it would have just continued spreading and taking them down one by one. The ideological left just don't like the reality that freedom is paid for in blood. Apparently if we could just talk about it just a little bit more it would all be alright.
