There used to be army hospitals such as Woolwich but budget cuts over the years mean that injured servicemen get no different treatment to anybody else. Servicemen should be getting the best treatment there is and they are not. That is the real disgrace and crux of this whole matter.

That's a result of the extreme lurch rightward (by both major parties) in the past 25 to 30 years. The Tory party after 1945, which to a great extent favoured both nationalisation and state intervention is unrecognisable from the party it's become, and Labour -- which has taken largely the same journey -- is little better now. The country has shifted from fundamentally Christian Democrat to an extreme form of Conservatism which all but the greedy can see is a busted flush. You give an excellent example.

Perhaps they were trying to make a really s*** cake? But who were "they"?

"..a certain religious side of our community.."
"..the cab drivers got on their phones.."

We have a problem. Wring your hands all you like about those pointing it out. But we do have a problem.

How pathetic........ if anything this man should have received better treatment as a serving officer of our armed forces, not hidden away for fear of offending other "cultures".

This sort of stuff makes my blood boil.........

How dare you even say that Hoof - really you should show far more respect than that. I do believe you must be a racist for even starting a thread like this. Besides, to serve in the British armed forces means that he must have been racist too.

Some people will see it like that Tom!

I wonder how the guy who just appeared on Sky news this mornings will see it?

Still, it was probably the fault of the 9 year old girl. Raping c@nt

WTF has that got to do with a bad decision by a hospital?

Mods have a word. This is just Muslim bashing.

Is the correct answer. Apparently no one read the article or, if they did, they looked at the picture but couldn't actually read.

Is not the correct answer and I read the complete article.
it quotes:
“This employee was acting in good faith because previously, there had been an altercation between a member of the public and a different member of the armed forces in uniform.”

If that was the case previously then the notice should have been made more prominent, where I might add is in any doctors or hospital, that anyone causing a problem will be asked to leave, and this means anyone. So if some objects to a member of the armed forces being there and picks on them, then that person should be ejected and let the service man sit in peace. I am afraid this country is bending and leaning towards ANYONE but the right people IMO....it is getting bad really bad now.

That may be the case. But it's got sod all to do with a rape case!

Typical of you to swerve the subject by cry babying about something else.

I'd like to hear you admit that this is an insult to our armed forces and indicative of the problems ahead for multicultutral Britain.

Oh go on, just admit it a little bit.

You've got to laugh, some live in this comic book world where all muslims are murdering ISIS rapists, then when millions of them who obviously aren't part of ISIS and are decent sane people try to flee this madness, they are suddenly cowards on the take.

Could not agree with you more. It's hard to believe my dad fought in a war against fascism so people like Tom would be at liberty to spout this sort of crap. He'd be turning in his grave if he heard it.

Yeah and my father fought in WW11 so we could be proud of our servicemen/women,not to hide them away, because they might offend.

Really? I doubt that. In my experience servicemen fight because they're proud, honest and brave individuals. Not because they want the limelight.

The real offence in your scenario above occurred two weeks ago.

Instead of noting the incident for future reference, the nurse should have called the police and got the troublemaker arrested, then deported.

Do we know she didn't do that? Do we even know the troublemaker two weeks ago was Muslim and not a white, English thug? To the best of my knowledge all that's been reported is that there was an incident two weeks ago. Nothing about the perpetrator or nature of the incident has been published. So how has this thread suddenly lurched into an attack on Muslims? Why are you making claims that you cannot come close to substantiating?

Edited by sydtheeagle (27 Sep 2015 12.50pm)

Why are you being deliberately obtrusive.... oh yea, you're syd the eagle... that's what you do.

I doubt that an incident did happen 2 weeks ago - this nurse/administrator made a bad call of judgement and someone invented the previous incident to cover up the failing. Think about it... why hasn't the previous incident been reported, or the soldier involved come forward?

It was a bad call and people like you and oldcodger defending such behaviour should be ashamed of yourselves.

IF your father fought in WW2 he would have proudly worn his uniform wherever he liked in the street, on parade or in hospital. If he had balls, unlike you and oldcodger, he would stood up to the bullies, not allowed himself to be hidden away.

With the greatest respect, I think we've reached an impasse and further back and forth would only result in a re-statement of the same ideas with neither of us changing our opinions so I think it's time to let this one go.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't part of the war about defeating fascism, persecution and racism?

What a state our country has become that a serving soldier has to be asked to leave/hide/get out the way/whatever it was because he was in uniform, from a hospital.

Spent a lot of time in the States recently, guaranteed this would not ever happen over there,he would most probably gone to first in the queue.

Well said Paul.

The USA as a nation are proud of their serving soldiers, whereas we seem to have an underclass of apologists as well as foreign nationals continually having a pop.
