So who are these Anti-Immigration Parties on the rise? In the UK, I'd guess its UKIP (which isn't really anti-immigration, its pro-immigration but with tighter controls over working migrants), but there really much more an Anti-EU party.

BNP, EDL and Britan First - Vocal but yesterdays news. The BNP has faded into obscurity, the EDL is hardly making news nowdays and Britain First are only really a presence in social media.

What constitutes an anti-British community though?

In terms of the UK, terrorism, seems to have a history of being by people who are British (UK Born Muslims and British Irish).

Doesn't that illustrate one of the problems - born here but loyalties lay elsewhere.

Not necessarily, some of those terrorists were very pro-British.

In what sense?

Their own sense, loyalist groups.

The Northern Ireland 'loyalist' terrorists are not particularly pro-British, they are anti-Catholic. They are Irish and want to live in a Protestant Ireland. They are anti-British in that they carried out terrorist acts contrary to British law and sometimes involving British targets. Their 'loyalties' do not lie with Britain but to a Protestant partition of Ireland. It is like saying 'British' Muslim extremists are pro-British because they want an Islamic state in Britain.

A mass exodus of a country's population is not an answer. You can't just run away from a situation. If we had in the 40's the whole world would look very different right about now.

If I were so desperate to leave a war-torn country I'd settle in the first peaceful place I could find. So how the f*ck do they end up in Sweden? Oh yeah, because they want the p*ss-easy life that the Socialist Swedish Government will offer them.

Free-loaders the lot of them, nothing more.

Self preservation.

I can understand both sides but when dead kids are getting washed up on beaches and people are using words like 'free loaders, the lot of them' it really does shine a light on the very worst side of human nature.

Was one child. Majority of imigrants/refugees/asylum seekers all seem to be men aged between 18-40 what about the women and children? Where are they fleeing too?

Good response, I'd have said that the loyalists terrorists supported the loyalist political parties cause of anti-republicanism, but the anti-Catholic element of loyalism can't really be down played. I think they're only really pro-British as it would be impossible for them to survive as an independent state.

Away, as opposed to. It seems they were hoping to end up in Canada, where they have relatives. Presumably they were intending to travel indirectly.

Currently there are 1m Syrian refugees in Lebanon, which has a population of 4m.

So are we going to send a few Hercules to collect refugees then?

Banging on about needing to take more means absolutely nothing and isn't going to save kids from drowing in dodgy boats despite the accompanying pictures. Nor does it have any effect on those who have made it to safety in Europe other than appeasing the countries who are currently grudgingly accommodating them due to geographic convenience.

Telling everyone to come to England is going to make the journey less safe. Children are dying but not in Europe.

Back to the original topic, pro immigration sentiment is increasing too. There'll be civil war next. Already various marches announced. It's now reached the level of people offering to take them in themselves. Pretty shortsighted. Ignorant even. I wonder if people think it's just like raising a pet, or more like a child you'll have to look after till they find a job and end up on their own two feet. Fair play, crack on. Even Labour can only suggest taking an extra few thousand.

Ironically, UKIP Nige seems to think we should be taking in more Syrian Refugees, and has called on the Prime Minister to do so.

We should never confuse immigration with Asylum.

Banging on about needing to take more means absolutely nothing and isn't going to save kids from drowing in dodgy boats despite the accompanying pictures.

It would reduce the frequency and probability though. What generally tends to happen is that refugees flee the country, to a bordering country, like Lebanon, and end up in a refugee camp. The UNHCR tries to then locate placements for refugees. The likelihood is that most of the people who are on the boats have likely passed through a Refugee camp at some point.

The problem tends to be that there are more refugees than the UNHCR can place, and unsurprisingly people aren't keen on staying in refugee camps on the borders of the nation they've fled.

So they try to make some headway, because its easier to get Asylum if your actually in a country, than not (even if the UK refused asylum, they'd never send people back into Syria).

Currently around 5000 Syrians have asylum status in the UK, only around 200 were granted asylum via the UNHCR, most of them were Syrian nationals working/studying or residing in the UK when the war broke out.

The simple fact is that we couldn't deport someone who is Syrian whilst the civil war is ongoing anyhow (there is no authority to deport them to). We can resist taking more from orthodox channels such as the UNHCR, but we'd never actually send anyone back if they happened to be in the country.

I might be selfish and am not racist but please, no more in our country. No objection to helping them but the problem is they never go back. Its ok for people to say yes let them come and we should let more in but they are not living on council estates or in areas flooded with Refugees/Imigrants/Asylum seekers who are stealing from the local shops, Stealing washing off lines and my gran had her She emptied Somalians who tried to sell the stuff to my uncle. If children are drowning trying to leave their country then stop them leaving, stop them getting into ramshackle boats and try and solve the problem they are fleeing from.

Do you not think that that is one child too many?

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

Yeah, presumably though the only way to actually do that would be to offer them asylum somewhere, rather than just leaving them in crowded camps on the countries with a Syrian border. Lebanon, which has a population of 4m, has taken in some 850,000 Syrian refugees.

As for solving the problem they are fleeing from, well that would be either the Al Nasar Front, IS or the Syrian Loyalists factions. Which would involve a full scale military intervention, with ground troops, in a region with minimal logistic support, engaging in an on going civil war. I'd imagine the losses of British Service men would probably be at least on a scale with Iraq and Afghanistan combined (not to mention the risk dragging Lebanon and Turkey into the conflict).

The Assad regime and allies number in or around at least 200,000 without counting air and naval forces. IS and allies around 80,000.

That's a very serious conflict to then put British ground troops into, especially given the only reliable line of support would be either via Israel via the Golan Heights, or the Kurdish regions, via Turkey.

Another five confirmed, with a separate incident involving 12 adults.
