Well I read it on the bastion of truth and honesty..... the BBC website although that headline matches what I said. I don't want a free trial of the FT. If I did I wouldn't be a plumber

Anybody know if the bookies are giving odds on whether more refugees will come across the channel or taxi’d here by the military during 2021? It could be close…

Shortages of certain stuff in supermarkets? I"m not minted mate, just got enough to get by if i"m sensible, but I thought the idea of brexit was for all that lovely lolly we were saving? No point saving it if it"s not going to filter down to the worker bees! Yes, no food is because of no truckers=gone home because of brexit! Now, wheres those shekles?

DVLA are dragging their feet issuing a re license. 200k drivers waiting, including truckers who when aged over 50 need it renewed every 2 years I think. Don't always go for the favourite CP as it doesn't always win!

Blame the companies, they knew the situation and failed to hire and train enough drivers. People on the left often complain about the lack of training and investment in British companies well in this case they are correct. Before we start importing cheap labour from the EU why don't we start looking after our own. I suspect there are plenty of people in the UK who would love these jobs if the companies were prepared to pay for their licence. Isn't this what we all want companies investing in their own work forces? I have no sympathy for the big corporations they have been getting away with poor labour practices for years because there was always another cheap EU worker around the corner. Now they are going to have to rethink their strategy and start to look after their workers if they want to retain them. The government must stand firm and say no. Next month 2m come off furlough and many will lose their jobs now is not the time to import cheap labour.

Most sensible people would acknowledge that brexit is a failure, including the tories themselves some of who are saying so. But it does not appear to be a crushing defeat, like the 'sky falling in' although it probably actually is as it is irreversible. Rather like Afghanistan its become normal to fail at nearly everything, brush it all of and go again. But it's a loop there is no exit.
