This is nothing more than a gut feeling, but maybe Leicester City would fit the bill?
Europe next year albeit in the Europa League & Leicester able to have an upgrade for a Top 4 slot without having to spend 100M on a Top 4 Signing (If that makes sense)??

An upgrade on whom? Harvey Barnes?

It will be sad to see him go (if he does) but what does steve parish let him go for 40mill as I believe Man Utd get 25% of it , so the 40 mill suddenly becomes 30mill so anything from 1-3 players I’m guessing

Apparently Dortmund see him as a replacement for Sanchonif he goes to ManUtd. So all We need to do is tell Man Utd we will happily sell to Dortmund to facilitate their buying Sancho if the forego their 25%. Simples!

He's been a magnificent player for Palace.
He's also earned millions and benefitted from rejoining Palace after his career nosedived. Palace has been good to him and he's been good for Palace.
His heart has not been in it for some time and he clearly thinks he's too good for CPFC.
I have the impression of a deeply talented individual who is not mentally very strong.
Sell.

IMHO we have to lose the supposed romance between Wilf and Palace fans. There has long been some kind of " if Wilf feels the love it's more important than for example money "

Wilf has served Palace well and dished up some unforgettable moments, Seaweed semi final for example.

But, the flip side is he does have the sulks from time to time and never seems to be enjoying his football these days. I liked him as captain as it seemed to focus him more.

I suspect someone has been whispering in wilf's ear that he can get more elsewhere. I would think in the current climate he might get a 20% up lift on what he gets at Palace but he is not on current form a 200K a week player which is what is being suggested as his target basic salary.

11 goals and 2 assists last season is not superstar form.

I agree with this. All the talent in the world but his temperament has really messed up his progress. I have actually ever seen another player who argues as much with refs, fans and opponents and puts himself off his game.

Definitely time for him to move on and for us to move on but I really don’t see any buyers for him. His only options will be Turkey or China.

I think sadly for Wilf, he’s missed the boat. I think 3/4 years ago he was genuinely a world class winger good enough for any of the top four and worthy of the £80m price tag, but he signed a 5 year mega contract with Palace.

He has clearly lost a yard of pace and cannot take on full backs like he used to. He’s doing well as a striker but he’s not the threat he used to be as a pacer winger.

He desperately wants to play in Europe but none of the top 6 would take him now, perhaps Leicester? The likes of Arsenal and Everton have more of chance of Europe but are not there currently. I can’t imagine any club would pay him the salary that we are. I think a move abroad is the best option for him, but he doesn’t seem to be the character to do that.

He needs to realise that his options are limited and appreciate that Palace is not a bad place for him right now. He’s our poster boy, main man and highest paid player, he wouldn’t get worshipped like this anywhere else.

Agreed. I also think we should try to hang on to him unless we get a very good offer, because we will be missing Eze for the first half of the season and life without those two could be very challenging unless we recruit very well.

Agree with this. I was shocked to see how slow he was for the chance against Arsenal. He had a five yard head start on both their centre backs.

Indeed!

He was played mainly as a striker and scored only one more goal than Benteke, who was largely ridiculed for being rubbish, ineffective and for missing loads of chances....And Tekkers actually had a massively better return of goals per minutes played than Zaha last season (10 goals in 1819 mins compared to Zaha’s 11 in 2614 mins - Premier League stats from whoscored.com.)

Bottom line is that any half decent forward played up front in our first team would’ve scored 11 goals over the course of the season.

Wilf has lost his electrifying pace and sulks and strops like no other player in the EPL. He is still a good player don’t get me wrong and has been at times unplayable and excellent for our club but we have become too reliant on one player, who is now well past his best.

It is just a circus and an unhelpful one at that, he signed a bumper 5 year contract and is the top earner at our club by a country mile. Get on with it quietly and professionally and spare us this constant nonsense.
