The huge shift from 'defensive'* football to possession-based terrifies me. But also excites. I've not been this excited with a prospective appointment since Ronald De Boer.

But I suppose we are probably safe this season so if it were to happen now it gives a bit of time to bed in for next season.

Have to wonder if there is a master plan that is almost well hidden. Summer 2021 is the time when many of our players who tend to be surprised by other teams starting in the first ten minutes of either half will be out of contract. From memory we have six Academy players out on loan (plus Jach) and booth the remaining U23 and U18 teams are winning most - if not all of the time - and RH, as England Manager gave chances to many young players. Will we see RH having a last 2021/2022 season with a team with an average age of 22, featuring first on most MOTD broadcasts?

i would worry if we appointed eddie howe as manager, for the life of me i can not see what his credentials are?

literally wasted hundreds of millions at bournmouth to take them down.

he wont have the luxery of that here.

also posession based football, do me a favour...that only works for the top 6 and anybody else stupid enough to play that gets relegated.

not for me, clive.

new contracr for roy please.

In my opinion it will be one of the hardest jobs in recent years to 5ake over this palace side .No apparent team plan as to formation,an ageing squad, players out of contract. With 5he added pressure of keeping us in the premiership. Good luck with that one Lol

Not sure about Howe but in fairness to him they had horrendous injury problems that contributed towards relegation

A Pearson personality would shake a few players out of their lethargy!

Have Bournemouth definitely "wasted" the millions he spent?

Granted he bought too many young, inexperienced players who haven't reached their peak. That seemed to be a major factor in them going down.

However, they are currently sitting 6th in the Championship and doing ok.

Many of the young players he bought still have a sell on value. Come the end of last season we had barely any players that would command a half decent transfer fee.

I was pretty impressed in how we managed to recoup our money for Sorloth, otherwise only Zaha, and potentially Mitchell and Reidewald would have attracted half decent money. In terms of age and sell on potential we are at the opposite ends of the spectrum.

Despite relegation, their squad is still in a decent shape and their assets are more like to hold or appreciate in value. If they come up, they will be in a better shape than us.
