I'm afraid this is incorrect and not all reinfections are milder. He never had Covid he quarantined because he was in Serbia and had to quarantine on return to UK for 2 weeks.

It's less a question of him being vilified and more a matter of justice being seen to be done. Once that happens then everyone moves on, the problem arrises when it isn't clear that the club has done anything more than the now-standard 'told him we are disappointed and reminded him of his responsibilities'. That's not good enough at a time when the rate is surging upwards and we have so many dangerous idiots disregarding their obligations, either because they can't be arsed or because they've subscribed to some moronic conspiracy theory. To recap, he broke an emergency law introduced to limit the number of people who die or get very unwell from covid just so he could have a party with a Fulham player who, irrespective of how he tested, is at a club where they had already had games called off due to outbreaks in their squad. He then returned to training where he could have passed it on to others, including the manager who is literally in a high risk group. He didn't own up, he got caught. It's impossible for the police to prosecute everyone who does things like this, so most people have got away with it even though, to quote one intensive care doctor speaking in the press last week, they have blood on their hands. It would be appropriate for cpfc to release a public statement saying that the player is fined the maximum permissable under the terms of his contract and will not be considered for the captaincy for the remainder of the season. If Luka has anything about him he'll also make a sizable donation to something like St John's ambulances, who's volunteers are heavily involved in administration of the vaccine.

Now I didn’t say he hasn’t been an excellent signing for us, but he isn’t the player he once was, and we were playing a depleted Sheffield United team. Let’s see how it goes in the next 2 league games, I bet he gets at least 1 yellow card...

This is the only season where he has looked out of sorts but it also coincides with a change in formation and tactics. Every player on every team has dips in form but there is an obsession with slaughtering Luka on this site when he has a few bad games. We are a better team when he plays so let’s hope his form lasts. And why is it such a bad crime for him to pick up a yellow card? He is our most consistent player, never injured and always available. Does it really matter if he picks up 10 yellows cards over a season and gets a one game ban? Edited by EddieMac (03 Jan 2021 1.17pm)

Yes he is, but his talents are fading. I wouldn’t mind seeing us shell out for Conor Gallagher if Chelsea will let him go permanently however. He is just the sort of player we need. Not forgetting Tom Davies and John Lundstram.

Edited by EddieMac (03 Jan 2021 1.17pm) Once a player picks up a yellow card early in a game, they are then walking a tightrope and become less affective. Milo picks up needless yellow cards for nothing fouls. You wouldn’t mind if it was a last ditch full blooded take one for the team yellow card, but they are not.... As for “ slaughtering “ him that’s a bit dramatic isn’t it?

Decent signing I grant you but not the player he was. Additionally, there is no way he should have been playing yesterday in view of his Covid activities. If I was Riedewald I would not have been happy at being left on the bench and this guy can pass which, Luka has problems with.

Not for the first time, he was shown up by McArthur for effort. In the second half he got a bit better, particularly with the ball. Even if he'd scored a hat trick he'd still be a t*** for what he did though.

It is not a question of whether he is a valued player, a good captain or an asset to the team ! He has behaved in a totally irresponsible manner, set a terrible example to not only soccer supporters but also to the people of the UK who don't have his privilege of wealth. I do hope the club, if not the FA PL, will fine him substantially and the authorities do this to all who congregated illegally. I am disgusted.
