They are clearly different players.
It’s not a question of doing more or less.
Schlupp has his strengths but Eze has a different skill set and to ask him to play like Schlupp will set him up to fail.
If Eze is asked to keep shape all game his free spirited approach will be curtailed and you may as well start Schlupp in the first place.

Anyone want to give credit to Roy for doing the opposite of playing prehistoric football here and allowing Eze to shine.. or is the humble pie too sweet

The only argument to you my fellow Palace friend, is why we didn’t do it before.

Humble pie - haha Well done you for being the first.

Who would have thought it.. play your best players, let them
play and try to attack. All today did was show all those crying out for this approach more often are justified. Nice try though lol

Not sure if I'm getting carried away but I feel like Eze is an icon in the making. Bloke floats about like he's got wheels in his boots. Rolls Royce phantom wheels.
The way he makes himself available and calmly does something class 99 times out of 100, I think we've got someone here to be very excited about.

Classy performance.

Always had faith he'd get his chance and he certainly took it today. Hopefully he'll return fit from three international break and build on today's positive display.

It went our way today that's the difference and we had a quality corner for once with a quality header and then a brilliant free kick which then allowed us the confidence to attack with more leisure, with Banford's good goal which should've been a goal it would've been 1-1 and then later Bamford missed an easy chance when the ball hit his shoulder instead of his head it could've been 3-3, then take away our extremely fortunate 3rd and you have a very different result don't we.

Difference is playing with confidence.

He's been spotted and the cheque books have been placed in position and that's what happens when someone shines with us.

You are correct, we have a special player on our hands here, one the big clubs will be eyeing up in the next couple of years.

Looks like a typical Palace player, Pardew alluded to it with Sako, street football in south London.

Zaha, is no fans helping him? I think so, no showboating now, playing the right pass at the right time. We've finally got him back and long may it continue.

Score line made him shine bright.

Both got their fair share of fouls too today, We could've quite easily scored at least two more when they were hacked down. Leeds are good to watch for both sets of fans.

The point is, with a player like Eze who has natural skills and good spatial awareness, is it takes pressure off Zaha to be our main provider. The understanding between the players that play in the top half of the pitch can only grow.
