We were unlucky not to get a point against Sheffield Utd and against Everton we were undone by quality that Newcastle do not possess. I think we'll create a lot more chances today than normal as Newcastle will undoubtedly sit deep and look to counter, so it will really be whether we can take those chances. Ciaran Clark being out for them is a bonus as he has being playing well, but it's hard to tell if Joelinton potentially being out is a blessing or a curse. Despite not scoring he is far more capable of holding the ball up and bringing others into play than Gayle, but the latter is probably more likely to actually be in the penalty area!

Never more has a game screamed 0-0, but maybe we'll get a surprise and both managers will take the shackles off.

We all might look very ill at 4.53pm, or earlier. Cripes. Hope not.

Selhurst Park will be spittle-flicked with bile if we suffer a defeat, and Hodgson will endure a very uncomfortable walk to the tunnel as high-grade ordnance is dropped on him.
I believe that Parish will also attract bile akin to a rotten peach attracting wasps.

On that note I shall have to depart HOL as I have a 2 hour journey to make from the south coast.I must have taken leave of my senses!

I always take comfort when you start to show a high degree of pessimism as it always seems to precede a spell of better fortune I think Andros will start today and that will take some of the weight off of Wilf's shoulders. I had said 0-0, but I'm going to change my forecast to 2-0 with sunny spells.

I had a theory that if you keep kicking a ball at a lampost (Benteke) which is next to a bin (the goal) eventually the ball will land in the bin. However Im not so sure anymore.

Well played Willo, the team must have read your post, nothing like a bit of motivation.
