apparently he had a stormer today - sometimes seems to just do the ugly stuff (very well) but has offered disappointingly little offensively - either in the air or with his passing, but he has shown proper attacking ability for Senegal and West Ham - seemed to lose it as an attacking force for WHam in his last year or two at the club, but if we can get him back to his best consistently, like today's performance by all accounts the need for a new midfielder might not be as pressing as it is for a right back and striker

The versatility of Cheik should not be underestimated. He did a great job on Tuesday night filling in at centre back against Bournemouth . At West Ham he also played at right back, he doesn’t get unsettled by anything, he has been a good signing for sure...

The thought of Schlupp in midfield against Man Citys midfield is just ridiculous.. I know some on here defend him but I still standby the opinion that he really is a truly awful player... But Roy seems to like him. Edited by kennybrowns leftfoot (21 Dec 2018 1.16am) Now maybe you can start to see why Roy rates Schluppie.

Now maybe you can start to see why Roy rates Schluppie. I think he was Allardyce's first signing for us. In the distant past when he was deployed up front on occasions at Leicester he lacked composure in front of goal but this area of his game has certainly improved with experience. I have defended Schlupp on HOL when there were questions raised about his inclusion over Meyer and I asserted that Schlupp being left-footed provides a balance down the left, he provides physicality, can pop up with a goal and can be deployed in various positions. I readily admit not posting a plethora of positives about Meyer - perhaps he will prove me wrong. Apropos Kouyate, he has been immense. Edited by Willo (06 Dec 2019 9.58am)

All thanks to our manager. I don't often agree with you TP but on this occasion I do plus the coaching staff. With regards to Kouyate he looks more like Veira every time I see him. Awesome display at centre half against Bournemouth.

When he plays in the midfield he is also the outlet for times when we need to play long as he has good aerial ability. This allows to play 3 smalls up front and also helps us out defending set pieces
