I'm surprised there's negativity surrounding him. I think he's looked quality every time he's played. He's been the only outstanding central midfielder this season in my opinion. Skilful, moves the ball quickly, pops up in good positions. Looks a genuine threat when on the pitch. Kouyate on the other hand, I haven't worked out his role yet. He seems a poor mans Luka and Luka has been poor.

One of the first names on the team sheet for me. Should be playing behind the striker/strikers

I would say he needs a little more time to gel with our forward players, but i would also say that our existing players need to gel more to him than the other way around.

He has vision for sure, but currently we are not sharing that vision, as people are not being where he wants/expects them to be.

It's obvious he's a class act,and potentially he could be a fantastic buy, but it's too early to say.
He looked good early on against Chelsea, but thereafter the game seemed to pass him by.
We can't say he's too small,Hazard has a similar physique, and he copes with the robust Premier League.
I think a home game against Spurs is a perfect opportunity for him to really show us what he can do,and I believe he will.

Yes, but would he give his seat up in block E ?

a clue for me is he is the player wilf looks to play with when they are on the pitch together, last season more often than not wilf looked towards RLC, this season its meyer.

speaks volumes as to who our best player looks to for 1-2’s in tight situations etc.

Exactly the same thoughts as this.
Definitely going to be playing some nice through balls for zaha and Townsend soon once they all on a wave length.
I really hope we can find a permanent spot for Meyer.
Sometimes it seems we just settle on prefering the grafters over the class but class wins games.
Luka and Kouyate and McArthur do the job of two men sometimes it’s strange. And that’s not a slur just think we need others to do more to help them shut spaces then Meyer has freedom to play ball

Whilst left side of a 442 doesn't look like his game also very underwhelmed by his impact. Another steady central midfield player.

Meyer isn't great, but he's possibly our best midfielder by default. Luka and Mac have been absolutely useless this year.

If we had anyone of quality in midfield we could get away with having terrible forwards, but unfortunately outside of Zaha, we have no quality at forward or midfield. Hard to compete with that.

Well you can’t always get it right repair man.
And for what it’s worth Hazard has a very different physique..
Way more powerful, lower centre of balance.
The two are incomparable. Hazard is world class.

Sorry but he was the worst player on the pitch at Chelsea and didn't do anything more yesterday.
Really wanted this one to work but he is a yard behind the game most of the time.
