The only team I fear he'd go is City. Pep, like Fergie, clearly sees the talent that Wilf has. A played like him could be a world beater under Guardiola, he can beat players so effortlessly, and now he's developing a real killer instinct in front of goal. He'd be an absolute nightmare to mark, and is a much better player than Sterling.

Yep, Wilf is as good as Jonny Evans, lol.

I would hate it if he went to Liverpool. Fortunately I just can't see A) him wanting to go there or B) Liverpool being willing to pay the £70m plus that Parish would want.

In this over-inflated market where Virgil van Dijk goes for £75m, there is no way we will even answer the phone for less than that figure. Parish loves Zaha so much that he may have been willing to fall out with Pulis over it and he offered him a huge salary to commit for 4 years. The media seem to think if a big club wants him then they will get him, but I genuinely think that they're wrong. Plus they all talk about the work Pep, Klopp, Pochettino, etc, could do with him, but to that I would say Roy F**king Hodgson. He has got the best out of pretty much every single player in the club, including Zaha.

So that's it from me. He's going nowhere and Liverpool can f**k off.

yes, it would in theory need to be a world record for it to make financial sense

you see these stupidly low figures banded around like £20m or even £40m because actually the other clubs don't really rate Wilf that highly. They just want him as a bit part player to help with a bit of squad rotation. Not to build a team around. I think Wilf understands that if anyone comes up with a transfer offer that represents his value to Palace then it would mean they would have to play him to justify that fee.

Since he was crucial in us staying in the premier league this year (no points without him in the team) then his value is about what, £100m in extra revenue? As we have an abysmal capability of bringing in top talent to replace him it is unlikely we can do that even with an extra £40m in the bank.

So keeping us in the premier league for the next 3 years - isn't that worth 3 x £100m to us potentially?

Of course no one will pay more than £50m for an occasional player which is how others see him at operating at a big club. Should be here next year.

Good post. I think the only clubs that pay the fees that we would accept, wouldn’t consider him to be good enough, although Arsenal will be different now that Wenger is going. Although I think they’d want a World Cup player and more marquee signing , like a di Maria type , to satisfy their fans.

Surely I can't be the only one who finds this attitude totally disrespectful and offensive to Roy & Wilf & CPFC. What makes them think that Klopp has coaching abilities to make him better and that we are so hard-up that we would sell him for £22.5 so that he can be a bit player in their team. Grrrrrrrr

Wilf saying to Sky he's ambitious but the club has matched his ambition. Can we do that again this summer?

A very honest interview, another reason I think he's a class act.

Ultimately, it is up to us to show some proper ambition in the summer. We can't have a window like January. I can't see us getting RLC unfortunately. Chelsea have learnt from Salah and DeBruyne. If we do then it'll be massive.

However, some big boys will be dropping this year. The likes of Tadic, Arnautovic etc could be available and we'd need to be all over that. Big summer ahead.

I am hoping that getting planning permission for the new ground will make us a bit more of a prospect for investment from our owners; and that we will get a few decent signings in the transfer window.

Keep the team that we have, sign the new goalkeeper from Spain, that defensive midfielder that we almost signed in the winter, a couple of marquee signings and two or three squad players and we will have a competitive team for next season.

Keep the team that we have, sign the new goalkeeper from Spain FREE BUT BIG WAGES, that defensive midfielder that we almost signed in the winter 20+M PLUS BIG WAGES, a couple of marquee signings 40M PLUS BIG WAGES and two or three squad players 15M PLUS QUITE BIG WAGES and we will have a competitive team for next season.

So roughly 70-80m and a huge uplift in our wages? looks punchy

I am not so sure, would he get into Chelsea's squad now? How much game time will he get. Playing for us he is on the verge of going to a World Cup, playing is everything.

Chelsea could insure themselves and add a buy back option and / or a sell on clause.

My only concern is how much of our budget we can afford to spend on one player.

Looks like Wilf is staying for the foreseeable future despite the media's pathetic attempts to make a story out of everything he says.
Wilf is our Salah or De Bruyne and we have to keep him at any cost.
