Agree.
And yes. It seems that Natwest/RBS has a problem with freedom of speech.

There are a lot of non white faces on the ITV news, at least on the night before I wrote this post. People in some parts of the country must think they have tuned on to a foreign channel by mistake. That was not really my main point but you have to remember that in most of the country, most people are still white. The national news does seem to be very focused on London where it is a different and unrepresentative demographic. What is interesting is that what you do hear is non whites complaining that they are under represented in various areas, where as in reality the opposite is true.

Jesus H.

What the fvck does it matter what colour their skin is? They are British and if they can do the job well they are there on merit.

You must have been really dumbfounded when Moira and Trevor were reading the news back in the 70's and 80's.

This is not Johannesburg 1976.

For once in a longtime I agree with Kermit.

I now expect the BBC/ITV/C4 News to be spun towards the left just as much as I expect Sky News to put a right spin on it.

The newspapers don't even bother with spin, they openly report untruths in the main or blatant exaggeration in pursuit of their agendas.... The Mail/Sun are the worst of the right wing papers and The Mirror/Guardian are the worst of the left.

I tend to go online and try to read as many accounts of a said incident or development as I can to try and make sense of it.

Being of a right wing persuasion I will gravitate towards that view but not always and not exclusively.

There is no point getting annoyed about spin.... everyone does it to a lesser or greater degree.

As usual you are missing the point. It's about representation. It is perfectly acceptable for people in minorities to complain that they are under represented but if someone like myself comments on over representation of minorities then people like you get all outraged by it. Faux outrage of course.

oh, yeah...now tell me you felt uncomfortable when our team had Bright, Wright, Gray and Young in the first XI. Way too much over-representation there, don't you agree?

I don't think he is on that particular point Kermit.

My wife is always commenting on the fact that the BBC seems over represented with Asian/Black/Disabled/Gay presenters.

She is totally unpolitical and rarely expresses an opinion (I know I do more than enough for both of us)... but even she can spot political correctness in action and the BBC have obviously employed a positive discrimination in this regard it seems.

Not name calling Kermy surely?

I am making a perfectly reasonable observation and you lot on the left are throwing your toys out as per usual. Shouldn't be surprised should I. It is largely why we have Trump/Brexit world after all.

The vast majority of non whites and whites alike aren't tallying up the number of whites or non whites on the nightly news. I'd like to think that if I was presenting the news in my own country people wouldn't be watching it and thinking that they'd tuned into a foreign channel.

While I understand that this forum is something of a comfort blanket for some rather than a football forum, I do fear that it has normalised unfortunate and entrenched views about fellow countrymen. On this subject area whenever I state a view I'm 'playing the race card' so my hands are tied anyway. This is not a place for all thats for sure.
