I know it's an old story, but remember when Bono was on stage once rhythmically clicking his fingers to a silent crowd who were wondering what it was about. Then he solemnly told the crowd, "every time I click my fingers - a child in Africa dies" and then from the silence one guy yelled "STOP CLICKING YOUR FINGERS THEN YOU C*NT"

Status f***ing quo Ha haha indeed, although I did see them live once (it was work related, we had them in for a signing session and someone had to attend - and they were surprisingly fun. My mums cousin is Alan Lancaster, one of the founder members. But they are a mediocre pub rock band, who just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and appeal to people who have decided they like sound, but not music.

Mumford and Sons I absolutely love Kate Bush - but it took a long time to happen. Bowie - great singles, s**t albums, except for Hunky Dory - which is an absolute gem among a pile of mediocre filler.

To be fair, I don't really know enough Kate Bush to have said that. Running Up That Hill was on the other radio the other day and I couldn't help thinking Placebo did a much better job.

Careful, Placebo covers are a gateway drug. That said, I love Placebo, very under rated in my book and their version of 'Daddy Cool' is blindingly good.

The lets dance album is my favourite. I know at the time it was panned as being too pop and mainstream but I particularly like criminal world. Great song

Cannot stand Queen. Songs are bumptious and May's guitar sound just grates on me. I hate Queen. I think Mercury had one of the greatest voices, and some of their early stuff is pretty good, but the rest is just cock rock for boring dads. They're like a better Status Quo.

I was away on business, so I downloaded the Complete Smiths to listen whilst away. They were a bit before my time and I had never really listened to their catalogue. After listening to Complete, I believe them to be a s***e, self indulgent w*** of a band and don't understand why someone would basically buy album after album of Morrissey moaning about stuff. I also think Rick Wakeman is w***. I also think most of Bob Marley's stuff is w***. I don't get New Order, the Cure or Echo & the Bunnymen. Who do you think is an overrated pile of poo that others worship? I love The Cure, but its a mixed batch at times, with more than a bit of average filler. I must admit to really liking The Smiths but for a long time I hated them. Totally agree with Bob Marley, reggae for people who don't want to listen to reggae (i.e. white middle class people who want to seem right on).

They were never quite good enough for me to obsess over, but I thought Black Market Music (for its time at least) was a very good album and therefore underrated.
