The Labour Party has been significantly re-engineered to put the membership in a controlling position. Labour MPs have to listen to what their local party wants (and most want Corbyn and his principles) or face deselection. They undermine Corbyn-and therefore the will of the membership- at their own risk. PS. He had another great PMQ's today. Clever use of follow-pn qustions. Cameron squirming and Tories trying to laugh JC down on Tax Credit cuts, housing and (sick b******s) on Breast Cancer Rates. Edited by Red-Blue-Yellow (14 Oct 2015 1.27pm) So are you saying that any Labour MP who holds moderate views cannot be a 'conviction politician' and is simply a careerist? No, rather that a moderate by conviction will not be at home in a more radical environment so, depending how 'moderate' they are, the LibDems beckon or the Tories or whatever. Happy to debate this, but not sure to which legislation you refer. Great unemployment numbers by the way. Not in Scotland though ha ha.

I know what's caused it. They've stopped the deposit on glass Irn-Bru bottles, which has been a Scottish career option for decades.

I believe more Scots now think they dodged a bullet by voting no in the referendum despite the election result which saw SNP take nearly all the seats. The oil price reduction from £120 a barrel down to less than £50 a barrel would have scuppered SNP's economic plans for independence. Add to that all the government naval work moving away from the Clyde, Financial Institutions like Standard Life and Scottish Widows moving south and the state of their fishing industry... where would their revenues come from? I think we have them over a barrel (no pun intended) and should not give into any more SNP demands. Tell Jimmy Kranky to do one and try to go solo if she wants... they will be the losers if they vote yes, but the canny scots love money and will still vote no!

Made no difference to the vote either way, as predicted. Labour voted against the Conservatives' Charter for Budget Responsibility, but 21 of their MPs abstained. It came as shadow chancellor John McDonnell said his decision to reverse Labour's stance was "embarrassing".

Credibility in tatters and another nail in Corbyn's coffin. Two weeks ago at conference they confirmed they would vote for Osborne's proposal on the fiscal charter, now they say they won't. This is boiling up nicely.... senior Labour MP's are furious, the BBC are even saying it's a shambles and the voting public (not the paid up ideological Labour membership)will distance themselves from Labour even further than they did last May.
strip stuff down and the fact is that Gideon said he would wipe out the debt in one parliament. He didn't He said borrowing would be 37bn in 2015 but it was 87bn He said public sector debt would be 69% in 2014-14 but its 80% The press let him get away with it but the truth is he fails time and time again and unless you are rich the economy is still on the floor. He is a good politician but a crap chancellor. Gideon is a Shakespearean tragedy in the making. The Tories will see Great Britain become Little England and when Gideon, the Daily Mail, the Sun, the Telegraph and Daily Express are long gone, that bit of history and their involvement in it will still be being retold; while the ghost of Huffy marches around the executive flats that Selhurst Park has become, muttering its all to do with mini skirts and Liberal England in the 1960s.

Unemployment isn't falling....the number of people on JSA is due to the huge rise in the number of ex-claiments excluded on the flimsiest of resons. It's an unspoken but obvious policy in action. It's also the only way to get the 'jobless' total down - these people no longer exist as far as that stat goes.

I'm surprised you didn't mention "seasonal adjustments" affecting the figures!
