I don't believe I would like the type of people that would go to a cereal bar and think it's ok. A bit like Costa Coffee w@nkers. Corporate consuming idiots who don't mind being ripped off and help drag society down. Well thank you for introducing me to a completely new experience - partially agreeing with you on something. I would not like the type who eats at a 'cereal bar'. In fact, I would not allow them on my property. They to me are the type of skinny jean wearing, ironic glasses sporting and stupid big headphone donning morons that are turning the greatest nation in the World into a laughing stock. If I was in charge of the country (and I am sure you all pray that will happen soon), I would bring back conscription for those types and make them crouch behind a wall in Helmand province for five years. That would make them think about what they have done and act as a warning to others who think about following this fashion for dressing & acting like a manicured buffoon. With regards to Costa, I fail to see the issue. A cup of coffee is sold. When you want a cup of coffee and there is a Costa, you will use it. Most of us don't have the time to locate, or the access, a locally run, independent coffee shop selling Fairtrade coffee. Choosing Costa or Neros is part of the tapestry of City dwelling and working. Getting pretentious about it belies a detachment from reality, in my opinion.

This is the part I hate about them, probably more than anything else.
I don't. Reading was a f**king s**thole in the 70s and 80s, the gentrification of the 90s turned it around if you ask me. I'd like to see more done to turn s**ty estates and run down areas into nicer places to live, ideally driven by the local community, Council and business rather than corporate entities. The only problem of gentrification is that it raises already ridiculous property prices, and squeezes people out. I'm not even sure what a 'traditional working class establishment' actually is anymore. The trade union club? That said, who the f**k is going to Cereal bars? Sometimes I think I woke up and the world dropped acid while I was asleep.
It is a true sign that the world has truly gone up its own arse when people are paying £3 plus for a bowl of f*cking Coco Pops from a pair of Hipster c*nt brothers....
Whats your point ? That people should be able to eat and drink wherever they want, and whatever they want.

Whats your point ? That people should be able to eat and drink wherever they want, and whatever they want. I agree with this wholeheartedly, the very basis of a democratic society should be to allow people to do what they want, even if they're pretencious c**ts with annoying habits. And those anarchists, are stupidly targeting small independent community businesses that represent local peoples interests - I could see why attacking a starbucks or costa coffee makes 'sense', but this attack is about spite, not anarchism. We need more small local businesses to avoid the Brand Identi-Kit high streets the UK is becoming. Money and employment in the community.

Sometimes I think I woke up and the world dropped acid while I was asleep. You're different in having a grasp of reality. Earning good money is considered acceptable only if it's from the state or if you spend it on nothing. A sensible campaign to expose hipsters would've involved inviting the local homeless to eat free cereal outside. The Marxists believe that there will be no need for money in the communist utopia that is to come about. Eventually, maybe that could be true. But its a massive jump in reality to imagine it could be now, or even if we all suddenly rose the red flag tomorrow would that be possible or feasible. A truly socialist state can only be a progression of changes. Rapid change just creates anarchy, not Anarchism.

Are you seriously comparing a pub selling oooh let say a Remy Martin as well as a bog standard to someone opening a shop with the aim of selling a bowl of cereal for £2-3 more than the retail price of a box to the bearded, unicycle riding achingly hip who have moved in to an East End s*** hole so they can play at faux poverty??? Its f*cking cereal - its not a thing of beauty....
Its no different really than a café selling breakfast - and presumably it does enough business to stay open, even if its selling to people spending three quid for some cereal.

The attack on the cereal killer café really is the politics of envy. Like Jamie said Starbucks, and the like are corporate behemoths and fair game. To attack a small independent business is not. Especially by people who haven't so much as run a bath, let alone a business. My guess is that most things 'Hipsterish' this café unless it diversifies into something more than selling breakfast cereal will be closed within nine months. On the point of gentrification, anything that brings jobs and tidies up a s***hole is OK in my books. Edited by Jimenez (08 Oct 2015 3.09pm)

It doesn't sound like the type of place I'd ever eat at but if people are willing to pay, good on the owners for recognising that. Their business should succeed or fail on its merits, not as a result of the people who have decided it has no right to exist. They are victims of crime not 'hipster c*nt brothers'.

its really annoying when protests get hijacked and get out of hand as it gives the press the chance to put out a ` SCUM` banner headline , this country has a rich history of protest and long may it continue . it has since come to light that the massive protest against the Iraq war really stunned the powers that be and has had an influence since . to quote a tweet this morning about the suffragettes and the film prem last night _ " direct action when its safely a century old is great , heroic and worthy of Hollywood . but when its contemporary its an outrage . " NO PASARAN !!

Pizza, whilst ridiculously expensive for what is a piece of bread and some tomato sauce, is just about forgivable even if it is £9.99 as I am guessing the majority don't know how to make a good one at home. Ice cream is pretty inexpensive in most places - £2 for four Magnums in a supermarket - so easy to avoid the traders marking it up to something stupid like £2.50 each or summat.

2) It's your dosh. If you are a coffee w@nker that is nobody's business but your own. A flask is a good utensil to keep in mind should you change.
