I Think Lampard is the Perfect signing he will bring the youngsters through get rid of the overpaid dross, be able to attract 4 good loan signings in the mean time and i am sure pick up a couple of bargains, that's 6 new players, and hopefully Ferguson and Tomkins with a better season injury wise, my only surprise is he would want the job
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Remember similar scenario when Sir Steve Coppell was appointed the rest is history as they say .Dyche will be expensive as compo involved and would probably want a,bigger budget than Frank. We could probably get a bargain basement in appointing Chris Wilder as our manager, who came so highly recommended by BFS a few years ago.

Lampard with his links to West Ham and Chelsea, joining that nuisance from South London - a big gamble and a big no from me. With Howe out of the picture, never thought I would say it, but of the remaining known candidates, Sean Dyche stands out for me. Why would Dyche want to leave Burnley to come to Palace. It’s nonsensical move for him, he runs the team at Burnley and will have money from new owners in the summer. Palace is a sideways move, so why move.

Not 100% sure would bring the youngsters through either, he only did that at Chelsea through necessity, when they were allowed to purchase, he did, big time.

Lampard is the risk candidate, but I think he's a very intelligent man who strikes me as somebody who could level with players. And that's basically the combination you need. Dyche to me is gapingly obvious as the ideal candidate but I wasn't aware Burnley have new owners. That can go either way for him, but it's reasonable suppose that may put him out of reach for now. We can always give Lampard 10 games and then get BFS back.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

A concern with SD is that with someone so firmly embedded within a set up as he is at Burnley there is always a risk that he will arrive down south, things get very real very quickly, he then decides he made a mistake & goes running back to Burnley.

Think Frank would e a good choice. Don't think Dyche would be interested- missed that boat a long time ago. Our most successful manager had less experience than Frank. Abraham would be worth getting at 40m - lots of Chelski fans don't think he is good enough and rather persevere with Werner
The rollover TV contract will see clubs getting less money given that the PL have to pay more to the rest of the football pyramid (Yes it's only £100m extra so £5m less for each club over the period but add in how much clubs have lost over Covid and finances aren't looking great). Evidence? See how the asking price for Sancho seems to be dropping substantially plus the state of the mega Spanish and Italian clubs. Also there was little transfer activity in the last window worth talking about. Finally, it's always a gamble taking players from big clubs. Such players are used to having good players around them. Put them in a bang-average team like ours and will they be able to perform?

From what I gather the new owners bought the club from loans from the club ( or something weird) so Dyche might want out before the proverbial hits the fan

Looking at the age of many of this squad, and the number yet to sign a contract. The matter of who is going to be managing , is hardly our biggest worry.

fingers crossed for B. I can't imagine Roy stalling on a contract at his age, or even that there's one on the table. I have reservations about Frank after reading about how he left some players out in the cold at Chelsea, which makes me question his man-management especially as we have players that don't respond well to that management style. However one would hope that he has critiqued what went wrong and learned from his previous experience.

I’m no fan of Lampard, but in fairness to him he did give debuts to no fewer than 8 academy players: Armando Broja, Mason Mount, Reece James, Billy Gilmour, Tino Anjorin, Ian Maatsen, Tariq Lamptey and Marc Gueh. But do we have a supply of Gilmours, James and Mounts waiting in the wings? I suspect not. In which case the much vaunted youth appeal of Lampard is an irrelevance.
