I can see him ending up at Stoke, would fit what their owner looks for.

Everyone starts somewhere. It's more to do with how good you are than how experienced you are. As I've already said - Coppell, by everyone's argument here, we would never have had him. We would have had Peter Taylor instead, forever, judging by some comments. Coppell was a big risk that very nearly did not pay off. We were nearly relegated to the third tier when he came in. Plus Noades turned to Coppell because there was really hardly any other options.

I'm not saying we have to, but everyone now seems to advocating what are basically has beens. I suppose people do realise that the managerial greats all actually started somewhere - usually having instant success. However, we will advocate for average and aim for average.

Iv nothing against CW but he is massive step down from our current manager. They had a way of playing last season but it all hinged on certain players being fit. It basically all revolved around OConnell and once he got injured it all fell apart, Roy has got us through some rough times with shocking amounts of injuries and CW wouldn’t have known where to start. Big no for me. Edited by EddieMac (14 Mar 2021 7.59pm)

He'd also be able to get us playing a more attractive style of football without compromising our defense They played dire footy.
