Zaha would have been at Chelseas had it not been for the transfer ban,, £25M plus Batys, would you take it...

I’d have no interest in watching Bats*** for a year. He is the last player we need.

Think we would be lucky to get £30m for Wilf at the moment based on his form this season. We’ve had some great times along the way with Wilf and he will always be a legend at the club but I do think it’s time for a parting of the ways.
Onel Hernandez at Norwich when they go down could be a good shout as a replacement, very similar style and type of player.

Zaha has been poorly handled... a lot of us felt there was a gentleman's agreement, the press even alluded to it, that if Zaha wanted to go, parish wouldn't stand in his way... the extension was to safe hard the club and command a decent fee.

Zaha was supposed to have gone last summer, with AWB this summer - shrewd bit of business of two summers we would all say... but AWB getting early bids changed it, could we have let both go? Certainly... why didn't we? PR? with no real replacement lined up, it would look poor form.

Personally, I would have let them both go last summer, who cares if clubs selling know we have money, it's not a secret what each club each summer.

The club needs a system where there are plan A, B's and C's. last summer there wasn't anything...

This was once a quality forum....

I concur. We should thank him for his contribution, but it is looking like his heart isn't in it anymore. Then again how long have we been saying that for and he still comes good at times. The idea of him going is an unnerving prospect, but we're not going to make strides forward if we don't make changes.

We didn’t let both go because if we did we would have barely had the numbers to field a starting 11.

after a quiet first 30 minutes Zaha had his best game of the season on Tuesday - well done.

It just shows what we've been missing when he has the bit between the teeth and actually runs at people.

Maybe he was moved to the right as he had little joy against James at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season. Only downside was Ayew was ineffective on the left. He also started moving off the wing, as he did with his goal, something i've been saying for a while

Has Zaha situation been poorly handled? Well we don't know what was said between him and SP , it would appear he feels SP said he would be sold. However, don't sing a massive 5 year contract and then moan about it afterwards.

The fact that Palace have had 2 years to get a replacement winger into the squad, which we need anyway, does indicate a lack of forward planning.

Play him down the middle. Central defenders aren’t as quick as full backs and he would be less likely to be triple teamed plus he’ll see more of the ball. It would only be till the end of the season. He’s nowhere near the hottest property in the premiership any more but we’d be hard pressed to come out on top ,money wise , if he was sold and we tried to get as influential a player to replace him
