Seems they have sent up a trust to help support the NHS.

The relationship between players/PFA and clubs will be badly damaged I feel and it's been PR disaster.

They’re making a one off contribution to the NHS which will be voluntary, who knows how much, and it looks like they keep their wages coming in, consequently squeezing our clubs and their employers towards serious financial trouble or worse. Liquidation. They really are a bunch of tw@ts led by the biggest wet lettuce you can find, Gordon Taylor. I really hope it comes back to bite them if they continue to want their full salaries or even just a deferral I really do. I’d be more than happy to sweep the whole lot out and start again with young blood.

It looks pretty bad at the moment, but when the transfer window comes, and the clubs go out an spend hundreds of millions on players I wonder what everyone will think of the clubs then?

By that point, a lot of people may have forgotten this row.

This is “a voluntary initiative, separate to any other league and club conversation".

So maybe let’s wait and see how it all pans out before making a judgment.

The Sun says it £4m, whilst that is a nice PR gesture it's not the point. Football clubs cannot or will not pay their non playing staff and are looking to the players to take a temporary pay cut to help these folk out.

I have always thought it strange when you hear of a whip round and the players raise a couple of grand.

Wouldn’t they look brilliant if one week, they all gave 10% of their weekly wage to the NHS or whatever charity they all agreed on.

I have dealt with money for years and it still surprises me how tight some people are.

Years ago I saw 7 Palace players pissing around over a £100 lunch bill. Shefqi Kuqi was one and he was on £13k a week!

That's life in general unfortunately. The wealthier people become, not always but often they become meaner with their money. Even with loved ones and friends.
Its the old saying, its how/why the rich stay rich.

I always doubted this but I’ve discovered it’s true. Their values change.

Are they all being deliberately idiotic?
I've yet to hear an answer from any player to the question:
How can a club survive with no income and yet still having to pay your enormous wages?

All this talk of the NHS is BS to evade the real question.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

My view is that 'Transfer Windows' globally will be depressed as a result of this dastardly pandemic.
Zaha will be sold for much less than would have been the case if this virus had not inflicted devastation around the world.

Since I posted the above, I have just set eyes on the following :

They believe all Prem clubs or owners are loaded so there’s no issue, or, more to the point, ‘’Why should we give up our rights to the huge wages when the owners are richer than us.’’ Footballers will be eternally stupid. They have no concept or ability for lateral thinking, or any thinking.
