Only 7 pages on the game? I'm as guilty as the majority but can't help noticing how quiet the match threads are becoming.

I am a Palace fan living in the north, so went to Burnley and saw a good win for the second year running. Before the game I feared the worst, with Ward and Cahill both injured, Kelly switched to right back, and a barely fit Scott Dann at centre half, with an even less fit Sakho on the bench. I needn't have worried however as Burnley made no attempt to turn the defence, never getting the ball wide or behind us. They just lumped it forward to Wood and Barnes and allowed our defence to play facing the ball. Tomkins was awesome in the air, ably supported by a clearly injured Dann and then Sakho. It took Palace at least 25 minutes to work out how to get the ball forward and keep possession, but after that we were much the better team. Zaha terrified Burnley every time he got the ball in space, ably supported by McCarthur who was everywhere. Kouyate also did many good things, but missed an open goal, instead playing to an offside Van Anholt, and also presented the ball to Barnes for a simple chance he belted over the bar (although the match report on here says it was Milivojevic so I may be wrong).. A great team effort and a deserved victory.

Is there a harder working player than McArthur in the entire Premier League? Surely his level of effort tires the other team and inspires us.

The reason that this thread is only seven pages is that the usual moaners have nothing to moan about..... we won, well done lads for a great three points, long may the moaners be silenced.

Definitely. Roy got his tactics right and Sean didn't (again). Good to see us playing more on the front foot again as well. Also, Sakho activated beast mode when he came on and hit some great long passes. I really hope he can stay fit as he makes a big difference in terms of pushing us up field quickly. Second that. Most assured CB that we have moving the ball up field and due to our lack of an attacking mid is very important.

6. Sakho is certainly one that focusses the attention. He has a very odd way of carrying himself with the hunched shoulders, any one remember Bobby Tambling. Never a dull moment Originally posted by kevlee

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
