All we can hope for is for a few injuries to force Roy into making changes.

We've signed enough functional central midfielders that Roy will never have to change the plan!

Loyalty to players is a commendable trait and many players seem to respect this in Roy.
However, it can blind him to where changes could at least be attempted.
When asked why Camarasa hasn’t featured he said Camarasa would have to ‘do very well to dislodge the players who have done so well for me for two seasons.
But if you examine the facts ,for example, Luka and Schlupp have not exactly set the world alight this season.
Lewington has said the real crime for Roy is not following tactical instruction which is worse in his eyes than playing badly.
Rigid methodology over anything else.
To go back to the title of this thread, I will be very surprised if Roy changes much.

That is the most worrying thing his Stubbornness in selection, and blindness to favorite players completely out of form.

Agree with much that has been said. We are very slow in supporting front players who become isolated. We have tried many central strikers going back to Glen Murray. None have been prolific which gives the idea its not the front men but the service they receive and this is to do with the style of play. We are the second oldest team in the division and apart from Wan Bissaka have not had much in the way of academy players making it to the squad. Without recruitment of good young players we will hit a brick wall, where we will need to spend heavily to keep up. If there rumour regarding Giroud (33) is true we will be getting an even older squad. HELP

yeah, because what we really, really need more than anything else when sitting 2 points off 5th place after 1/3rd of the season is a few injurys.

jesus wept.

In essence some fans are happy if we are a couple of points off 5th place even if means scoring only 6 goals from open play all season and playing with ten behind the ball most of the games, and some are unhappy and would like us to play with more freedom.
I’m in the latter camp and don’t believe this makes me an idiot.
I’m sure we’re capable of playing more attacking football under Hodgson, as we have done in the past, and still getting good results.
I do find his approach very negative this season and don’t believe he is getting the best out of the squad, even though I acknowledge recruitment hasn’t helped.

I am a bit of all of these. I am more than happy with our points total so far but I also realise we could easily be sitting in the relegation zone with our performances so far.

I normally defend Roy because of our lack of strikers and full backs and weakness all over the pitch but I can not defend him when he plays Jeff Schlupp and keeps playing that same midfield 3 week in and out.

Yes, I should big them up more often. More seriously Yes they got beat, but they scored, had 57% of possession at Old Trafford, had 4 shots off target and 2 off.
We had 38% possession most at the end and didnt get a shot off until 86th minute.

We also played them when they were a little less confident, Brighton have upped their game to become real candidates for our position in this league, makes future games between us even more exciting ..it is whether they can keep it up.

My point is that we may be 2 points off 5th but we are blessed to not be closer to the relegation zone. Our performances have been woeful in the majority of games.

im not sure if youve been watching since promotion, but we have never played fluid attacking football, we are a sit in soak up play & counter team. the time we tried to change that pardew lost
his job after a solid start to his tenure, and we had to employ fireman sam to dig us out of the s*** that experiment had left us in.

maybe if roy gets £50m to improve the top half of the squad, then i will expect a more attractive style of football...but we have 2 hopes of that happening anytime soon and bobs dead.

there we no complaints on here before we played 3 of the current top 4, and now weve lost to 3 of the top 4 people are bed wetting.
