Loyalty to players is a commendable trait and many players seem to respect this in Roy. That is the most worrying thing his Stubbornness in selection, and blindness to favorite players completely out of form.

Agree with much that has been said. We are very slow in supporting front players who become isolated. We have tried many central strikers going back to Glen Murray. None have been prolific which gives the idea its not the front men but the service they receive and this is to do with the style of play. We are the second oldest team in the division and apart from Wan Bissaka have not had much in the way of academy players making it to the squad. Without recruitment of good young players we will hit a brick wall, where we will need to spend heavily to keep up. If there rumour regarding Giroud (33) is true we will be getting an even older squad. HELP

In essence some fans are happy if we are a couple of points off 5th place even if means scoring only 6 goals from open play all season and playing with ten behind the ball most of the games, and some are unhappy and would like us to play with more freedom.

I am a bit of all of these. I am more than happy with our points total so far but I also realise we could easily be sitting in the relegation zone with our performances so far. I normally defend Roy because of our lack of strikers and full backs and weakness all over the pitch but I can not defend him when he plays Jeff Schlupp and keeps playing that same midfield 3 week in and out.

Yes, I should big them up more often. More seriously Yes they got beat, but they scored, had 57% of possession at Old Trafford, had 4 shots off target and 2 off. We also played them when they were a little less confident, Brighton have upped their game to become real candidates for our position in this league, makes future games between us even more exciting ..it is whether they can keep it up.

My point is that we may be 2 points off 5th but we are blessed to not be closer to the relegation zone. Our performances have been woeful in the majority of games.
