Interesting that there's still this perspective on Wilf from some outside the club......it's a horrible article and headline....as if Levy would be bullied into anything... I love the blatant cheek of this article. Its not just Tottenham pretty much all clubs behave this way. "we want your player who is under contract to you but we will not be held to ransom. How dare you demand a large fee for a player we are trying to unsettle" If Zaha wants to go then as long as we get the fee we want fair enough he has earned it. However I hope that Roy and Steve can persuade him to stay and the best way to do that is to strengthen the squad.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'World record fee for Zaha?' by Midlands Eagle Would that be enough for us to sell? He's priceless to us. Ideal situation would be a presser as soon as window opens Where Sp,Rh an Wz all state emphatically that he is staying, warn all suitors that they will be wasting there time. However if he goes , he goes as soon a possible for the highest fee We Can get, we can then have a pre season working out how to play without him, f*** about till the first game of season then are f***ed.

I think Spurs would need to double that amount to get him. This looks like paper mischief to me. How are Palace bullying Spurs into paying 40 million, we are not looking at selling?

Read somewhere that if Barca or Real Madrid want Harry Kane Spurs want £200 mil and yet they don't want to pay what Wilf is worth. Wilf if you leave don't go to Spurs as every player bar Peter Taylor has seen his career nosedive after leaving us for them.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'World record fee for Zaha?' by Midlands Eagle yes, it would in theory need to be a world record for it to make financial sense you see these stupidly low figures banded around like £20m or even £40m because actually the other clubs don't really rate Wilf that highly. They just want him as a bit part player to help with a bit of squad rotation. Not to build a team around. I think Wilf understands that if anyone comes up with a transfer offer that represents his value to Palace then it would mean they would have to play him to justify that fee. Since he was crucial in us staying in the premier league this year (no points without him in the team) then his value is about what, £100m in extra revenue? As we have an abysmal capability of bringing in top talent to replace him it is unlikely we can do that even with an extra £40m in the bank. So keeping us in the premier league for the next 3 years - isn't that worth 3 x £100m to us potentially? Of course no one will pay more than £50m for an occasional player which is how others see him at operating at a big club. Should be here next year.
