Sometimes I don't even think it's the contents of threads that bother me, it's the constant hijacking of threads by the same few posters who have to have an opinion and have it heard on every subject discussed on here. HOL admin made a positive step by separating Political talk from general talk, and I think it makes this site a better place. I was always HOL over BBS, but over the past year I have gone to the BBS more frequently to save having to read the same stuff from the same few posters on almost every thread. That now appears to have changed and I will be more than glad to come back to the mother ship for palace and general entertainment and banter. This site was really funny, with some brilliant posters, I hope we haven't scared them away and the HOL can get back to its former glory Edited by cb1969 (10 Jan 2018 12.50pm) Edited by cb1969 (10 Jan 2018 12.51pm)

Appreciate some people are retired, between jobs, slack off at work etc. so have a lot more time on their hands than others but the number of posts by some mean that threads are quickly taken over. Have said it before but I think a daily post limit wouldn't be a bad idea. Might make some think twice about constantly posting and getting caught up in petty slanging battles. I only really get to pop on here during my lunch break and commute so don't have too much time to post. Used to be the first site I'd visit but now it's way down the list.

That's actually not a bad idea...maybe a post limit on a topic though(?)

If you do that on here, hardly anyone will post from one day to the next on the discussion threads.

Just because it might be the nature of forums that every now and then loads of people are banned, doesn't make it right or even necessary. This is something that will happen, maybe in time for next season. The current forum software works perfectly fine but is outdated and myself and Guntri are working hard to create a better site for the future. Having to spend time to deal with bickering on the boards takes us both away from doing that. And as Midlands has said, only one person was banned. Two others asked for their accounts to be deactivated. You can bet that they will re-sign up under different names again soon.

We do appreciate your work, promise Always find it weird when people ask to be banned. It's quite easy not to visit a website. Guess it shows how addictive these places can be.
