This statement is bang out of order. He's recovering from a serious knee injury that he suffered whilst playing for the club. This could have been due to medical staff , who knows. He's never had a great injury record but we knew that when we signed him. Similarly his wages were agreed with the club. If the club were happy they shouldn't have signed him. It's a bit unfair to blame the player I agree with these sentiments. My understanding, based on various (possibly ill-informed) comments is that he suffered a very serious, possibly career threatening, injury. Slagging him off seems well out of order.

Do his wages get covered by insurance anyway? I'd imagine all or some will be covered.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Connor Wickham update?' by Midlands Eagle They certainly aren’t being covered by the wallies that like to dig him out as if his injury is a self selected thing. As if he’s well happy sat at home with a knackered knee that might never heal. What a weird way to think that a top level sportsperson might think.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Connor Wickham update?' by Midlands Eagle It was a bad injury and it wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t make it at the top level again. Real shame because on his day he could rattle any defender. But if he does get game time before the end of the season, he would most probably beat Tekkers total....

The only times insurance covers wages are if players gets injured international duty or if they have to leave like retiring due to injury. Originally posted by Gary St.Andrews

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Connor Wickham update?' by Midlands Eagle Whatever happened to 'cartilages' ruined many a career including Don Rogers, never mentioned these days. Knee complications were the end nobody would give you 1 year plus, lucky if you got 3 months to return. A swift operation and if not back then sorry. Why are our stars vulnerable to this 'anterior cruciate'? What do they do that is different some weird way of stretching ???????? Glenn Murray made a full recovery so there is hope but it does appear to be a medical term designed to confuse.
