Drawing a lovely bubble bath for the wife. Getting the scented candles lit and the atmosphere just right for her. Then having a sneaky w*** into it before she unknowingly gets into it. Gets everywhere but good for her skin.

Cutting a bit of wallpaper then when it sticks to the wall it is perfectly straight along the coving.

Just overlap it and trim it in situ.

That's kinda what I meant, but after you've scored it any peeled it back away from the wall, it's still lovely when you have cut along the scored line correctly and not left some giddy mess behind. Or worse, trimmed along an imagined line that was just the shadow of the already off course scissors! Just been doing our hallway. Done a good job but the lighting is sh*te so every piece that has still looked good after trimming in situ has been a relief.

I get ya. I thought you were cutting it first and then hanging it, hoping to perfectly line up a factory cut between the paper and some dodgy line on the coving.

I thought it's no wonder he's happy but that's far from simple, it sounds a ball ache!

I toyed with it when going around my fuse box and a couple of other things on the wall. Drew it all out nicely in pencil on the back but then decided it was bound to be a mm or so out when I lined up the pattern so I didn't pre-cut it. As it happened, I would've probably been bang on, I found myself cutting back exactly along the lines I'd drawn!

Always better to measure twice and cut once, than f*** it up straight away. I think that's the phrase.

Yeah my dad said something similar when he was helping me drill some tiles for a shower screen. "Measure twice, drill once", but he might have been talking about his relationship with my mum.
