I think you can quite clearly see him do that from the clip I put up. You can see the impact and him looking in the direction of the Welsh player. Actually makes contact with his elbow on the player's chest before the forearm catches his face. I'd like to hear what Evans thinks.

Another angle here [Link] and contact is initally on the chest, in an attempt to move him, but it doesn't and instead rides up to the head. It was Evans body position that blocked any clear footage of the grounding from 2 of the 3 TV angles so wasn't a bad idea but poorly executed.

I think that shows that he initially made contact with the chest and then saw where Evans face/head was and aimed his forearm in that direction. I think he'll get some sort of ban for that and for the comment. Edited by johnno42000 (14 Mar 2016 4.56pm)

Edited by johnno42000 (14 Mar 2016 4.56pm) I really don't think he did, but if he did he should get a longer ban as it'd be cynical rather than accidental. Shall we say 2 weeks for element of doubt plus 4 for the comment? Either way he might as well book his holidays.

Even the citing commissioner has only deemed it a warning. So it seems that Romain Poite, who gave the yellow, was over zealous. Unless her rips his head from his shoulders though the citing commissioner isn't really going to have much involvement though. My point is more that we all know refs / TMOS are looking at this and have a prescriptive course of action yet 'we' are still doing it

8 weeks for Francis. The only game he could still play in would be the Champions Cup final, if Exeter made it.

He even admitted it but the panel didn't think it would have got a red. Perhaps they are saving up the ban for the comment?

Nothing for the racist comment either, hmm, does he have pictures of the panel in compromising positions?
