Thing is Hoof, I remember going to pubs in N.London in the early ninties to watch bands and get very drunk indeed, and their would be collection buckets handed round some of the unsavoury pubs collecting money for "the cause" which was just another way of saying the IRA.

Nobody did f*** all about that, never made the press, no one said anything about it really, in that area it was common practice.

It just makes me think to what level support for these ISIS wnakers is going on in Islamic strongholds like east and North London, and certain parts of North England (and I include Bedford in North England )

I just hope it's not as widespread and as casually accepted now, as it was back then.

I remember them collecting in the Prince of Denmark, Portland Rd every Sunday night. Such friendly boys - always a bright smile while they were planning to kill us.

I remember "The Bucket for The Cause" going around in The Harp Cub(later Flim-Flam,now The Venue) New Cross. Never put in myself but plenty of others did! Ollie's Dad,Ash.

With hindsight some DMSO and LSD with hindsight could have made it quite fun to drop some coins into the bucket....

A mouse trap might have given more immediate gratification, although I don't really approve of indiscriminate attacks.

Away games would be renamed Rendition matches. Still the costs of transport would be cheaper.

Not really. They were all the rage once but they only had a range of about 30 feet... straight down.

The weave was amazing though.
