It is a win/win for Cameron, if Cameron is really intent on restoring fox hunting why not put the full three line whip behind it after all it was in their manifesto. With such a small majority you are relying on all Conservatives voting for the amendments was he unaware that 20 of his MPs would vote no?. If SNP abstain then he gets fox hunting through and if SNP vote against then he portrays them as flying in the face of democracy and being hypocrites.
The SNP were voted into Westminster so have a right to vote on an issue but if we are going to have a more federal Britain we need an English parliament with clear remit and scope otherwise accountability we become clouded, unfortunately that means more politicians?

Someone told me a few years ago that the BBS legend "Trolley" who evidently was a member of a hunt got involved in a protracted and very heated debate on the BBS about fox-hunting. His pro-hunting views met a lot of opposition !

Did you ???

He'd been doing so well keeping his cover as well.

I wasn't around on the BBS when Trolley was posting but one of the BBS mods is a keen gun enthusiast and shoots small animals apparently, and there was a rumour that Trolley was a sock puppet for one of the mods, so it makes one wonder.

If you're concerned about the welfare of the hunted animal Im not sure how being pursued by 30 terriers more 'unacceptable' than being pursued by a single terrier. What is the 'humane' number? Is two ok? three? From the rats POV the answer is probably 'neither'.

The humane number is zero terriers. With one dog, I doubt the ability of the dog and rider to actually catch a fox, once it clears open ground, and then if cornered the fox is as likely as the dog to come off better in a fight.

In a pack, dogs hunt by column, meaning that over time they exhaust their prey, and can even bring down prey that's as fast or even faster, than them, because they effectively switch places in the pack, allowing recouperation that the pursued cannot enjoy.
