In the MOTD interview with Roy he hinted that he would be happy to continue.

If he could get them playing week in week out like they have in the last two games, I would be happy for him to carry on. It’s a misconception that Hodgson only favours totally defensive modes of football, if the players available can play a more offensive style he will use that.
If he knows he can still do it, and his results confirm that, why not?

I'm in favour of assessing all candidates and establishing who's the most suitable.

My head tells me that Dougie and Steve should have an ongoing shortlist of coaches, managers and players to ensure an ever-evolving process of smooth continuity. However, this has literally never happened, and we will stick with our tried and tested approach of deciding which horse to buy 3 days after the previous one has bolted.

Having said that, if Roy were to do well, and get another year's contract, he will have been here 15 months or so by the end of it.

He seems like a short term appointment, yet how many managers last longer than 15/18 months in the bottom half of the league?

At least we will know what we are going to get. Dougie & Steve can decide what their strategy is, and start planning for 2024.

Absolutely delighted with what he has done. His impact on one or two individual players eg Mitchell is there to see. For this alone he deserves the love and respect from everyone, and a free lifetime season ticket.
But a full season at his age. I'm not so sure that will work. Seek his views for sure but we need a longer term viable option. I would not let the likes of Marsch near the checkouts at Sainsburys. This appointment is crucial. The players liked PV but I sense they respect Roy. Somebody pragmatic and realistic is what we need. Who I don't have a clue.

If Roy continues to produce massive wins on this scale, what is there not to like??
If his health permits, all in favour of a new one year extension.

Mr Hodgson and Ray Lewington have been very much a team in recent years.
Lewington is not exactly in the flush of youth and he might not have the desire for an extended role at a club.
If he doesn't want an extension then perhaps this would influence the decision of Mr Hodgson.

I’m of the opinion that , Roy and ray will stay on another season, then paddy takes over , maybe with Roy or ray moving upstairs and still providing advice , this would be brilliant as I’ve always said Palace need a “palace” manager , I always thought jedinak would get his coaching badges at some point and come back

When the Chairman has gone for a manager with a more expansive style (de Boer, Vieira) it hasn't worked. Allardyce, Pulis and Hodgson have all done well although the first two sullied their reputation at the club in the manner of their leaving. It will be interesting to see. I like the idea of an 'in house'appointment and can see the case for Jedinak or Paddy.

Or Paddy and Ray might be a good combination.

A perfect start for Mr Hodgson in terms of results and team performances, accordingly I can understand the arguments for retaining his services, however there are 8 games remaining and I shall reserve judgement until later.

I think the other issue is Spurs aside they're all games we would expect to at least have a chance of getting something from. It makes it hard to judge how we'd fare in the 16-20 games a season where we're the underdogs. Nonetheless, continue getting results like these last two and it may force Parish's hand if Roy wants the job for next season.

Paddy McCarthy has been U21 manager, he has not got any experience of managing at a club.I do not 'Warm' to the suggestion that he should be handed the 'Reins' at a club which in all probability will be plying its trade in the PL.

Working as assistant manager under Roy Hodgson for remainder of this season plus next season and knowing the club inside out plus having respect of all the squad would make him more than experienced in a years time to take over in my opinion
