The experienced Mick McCarthy has left Blackpool.
He has 2 promotions from the Championship to his name, at Sunderland and Wolves.

under a very dark cloud.
awful with Blackpool.
I'd rather you managed Palace than him

Steve Parish hasn't contacted me yet.

In terms of Blackpool, McCarthy joined them when they were 2nd from bottom and has left them with the team in the same position.
When they defeated QPR 6-1 it was thought that this might be the catalyst for a revival but they lost the next 3 games, their last 3 games under McCarthy.
The players who played for him at Blackpool were nearly all signed by Neil Critchley and Michael Appleton.Defenders Curtis Nelson and Charlie Goode were the only players signed by McCarthy.

I personally would love to see Rodgers at Palace. Young but plenty of experience. I just think it could really be a good match. I see a bit of what we had under Steve Coppell with him. He was paid 10 million a year at Leicester though so not sure he’s within our budget.

Let me twist this a bit. Who do you think we will end up with, personal likes/dislikes aside. Who will they appoint.
I'll say Cooper - which fills me with no joy whatsoever.

Roy, for one more year, hoping Paddy is good enough to take over at some time, it is vital who ever comes in realizes that their isn't much to spend and the continuation of promoting young players is understood, subsidized by using the loan system properly.

Oddly this. Paddy had something of a baptism of fire in his only game in charge and should not be judged by it. Note he has taken the shaun derry role of 3rd man in the dugout. A season and a bit learning from Roy and his knowledge of the youth could make him the ideal longer term choice.

I think we can close this thread. It’s Roy on a rolling 1 year contract.

I would be happy with Potter or Cooper. Both great with a stable squad and agreed plan with the board on how to progress, both screwed this season by insane owners buying entirely new squads and expecting them to instantly work.

As a wildcard, Fabian Hürzeler, 10 games in professional management and 10 wins, taking St Pauli from a relegation fight to outsiders for automatic promotion. Might be too early but signs are he's going to be one hell of a manager.

Well yes, but odds on Roy and Paddy will be poached by Chelsea (as well as Olise, Eze, Guehi etc)...
