I accept I am in the dusk of life and have a dearth of intellectual acuity.

You are the wisest commentator on matters Palace Willo! In terms of Palace DNA, the only thing I can tell you is that from my point of view, the way Palace played against Leicester was 'the Palace DNA. ' Only don't ask me to define it!

Can see potter going to west ham in the summer. We might go in for Moyes if Zaha leaves...

That's what palace DNA means to me, fast tricky wide men.

But more widely DNA is overused, because in reality it doesn't mean anything. Teams generate ways of playing that work for periods of time. But I'd go so far to say that Barcelona are the only team that has a recognisable DNA that can be articulated.

I very much doubt Rodgers or Potter will go anywhere before the summer. They would be mad to pitch up in a relegation battle when both of them are still held in relatively high stock.

Be interesting I doubt either of them will attract one of the big clubs but they would almost certainly be considered a good manager by the rest of the Premier League. I would imagine a West Ham or Everton would be their probable level, but will there be a vacancy there in the summer? I could see Rodgers and Potter being interested in these jobs before us.

What concerns me most, is that if Leicester end up appointing an interim (as I expect they may have too) then there could be a hell of a lot of shuffling around in the summer, with several jobs up for grabs which are considered more glamorous than Palace. Will we (dependent upon us staying up) be looking at a 3rd or 4th choice again?

I can see SP playing it safe and offering Roy a year contract.

Historically I'd say we've probably underacheived.

Of all your years watching palace, how would you describe us?
Plucky? Under dogs?

For me, we use local talent and players with a point to prove - we are in touch with our roots and have a good relationship with the fans.

We like a bargain and at times can upset the big boys.

That translates to a good scouting network, academy. It translates to a manager that gets what the fans are thinking and a chairman that is upfront.

We aren't corporate.

Hasenhuttl for me. I like the way he gets his teams to play. Maybe Potter but he has been massively found out at Chelsea.

The DNA thing is hard to summarise but I'm 55 and in my lifetime the best times have involved talismanic young black lads from South London with raw individual talent.

So Hilaire, Wright, Zaha and also that Steve Coppell saw this opportunity in the eighties to tap into non-league to find similar talent and drag us from the doldrums.

On the manager front we should just stop lurching from one extreme to another and accept that Premier League football is a short term pragmatic game for Managers with hopefully some magic in there.

Surely Moyes is not a replacement for Wilf? Even SP wouldn't sign someone that old.

I cant see Potter going anywhere while he is still getting paid by Chelsea , unless they reach an agreement on a settlement . If they continue paying his wages that will stop if he signs with someone else.I cant see anyone paying what he is on .
